Great spork, just don't put it into the dishwasher
This was a great spork that I used on many occasions. It held up well until I decided to put it into the dishwasher. I don't know if it had any warnings on the packaging but before putting it into the dishwasher I checked the REI page. There were no warnings about the dishwasher on the REI page so I thought it would be OK. DO NOT use it in the dishwasher as the dishwasher removes the anodized surface :((

Food Sticks
We wanted to love this because of the long handle for stirring in the freeze dried bags but the food sticks to the surface like glue. The handle has a ridge where the food also gets in and is hard to clean. We are trying the Snow Peak brand titanium now that has very smooth surfaces. I will miss the long handle but not the way every piece of food clings to the Sea to Summit. They need to redesign the surface.

Long Enough to Reach the Bottom

The length is right for eating freeze-dried meals right out of the bag. I wish the part that touched my mouth and food wasn't anodized. I'm not stoked to have that slowly wear off into my insides.

Go - to Utensil

I've purchased this thing 4 times now. Not from losing it 3 times but giving it to other people. I gave one to my girlfriend when she wanted to start backpacking, my other buddy who needed a longer fork, and I did end up losing one actually.

Makes eating freeze dried food easy!

Love the length of the spoon which makes eating prepackage freeze dried food so much easier than with a short one where your hand would inevitably get dirty with food. The only disappointing thing is that the finish on the spoon makes it difficult to lick clean. They do wash up with a rag/sponge and water easily. I love the fact they came with a carabiner than I can easily attach the spoon my backpack and not loose it.

One SPORK to rule them all!

It's a spork. It's light as a feather. The shaft is extra long which makes a HUGE difference when eating directly from dehydrated food bags as you don't have to reach your hard into the bag itself (good bye dirty fingers). Cheaper and better than the titanium sporks at REI in my opinion. I had originally got the short version but the REI cashier suggested the longer one; so glad I took his advice!

Useful Spork

The length of the sport is good for eating out of deeper items such as Mountain House food bags. Seems strong. I like that it comes with a clip so it can hang and dry on my pack after its washed.

Not strong enough, sharp edges

Have been using this spork for the last year. It recently bent severely at the neck while it was hung in a bear hang bag overnight. I was able to bend it back somewhat by hand, but worried about what feels like a weakness at the neck that may break soon. Please be aware that the edges of this spork are very sharp, both the rim of the spoon, as well as the "fork" tines. It is tricky finding a good place to put this spork while backpacking. Putting it in the backpack means many small holes get cut into everything it touches (including a ruined opsak odor-proof feedbag, dehydrated food pouches, ziplocks, backpack pouches, stuff sacks, pant pockets...). Putting it on the outside of the pack means it will lie in the dirt everytime I set my pack down (if your pack stays standing up when you set it on the ground, this is less of an issue, but it may still puncture rain ponchos or rain covers over your pack). Lastly, the edges are so sharp that my upper lip develops sores every time I eat with this spork. I am definitely not buying one of these again and don't recommend it to others. If you have to buy a titanium eating utensil from seatosummit, choose the spoon, since at least it won't have the sharp tines.

No better spork

I have had a few of the shorter sporks and when eating the backpacking meals you can never easily reach the bottom of the pouch. With the long handled version that is no longer an issue. Great product.

As a Spork: very good. As a back scratcher: unbelievable!

I’ve only used it a couple of times for its intended purposes while camping . I found it very light, stiff and the long handle can definitely reach to the bottom of my pre-prepared backpacking meal packets. On the minus side, I found a “spoon“ part of it to be on the small side when using it for soups, cereals, etc. This makes eating a slower and a bit more cumbersome than using a normal camping spoon; hence the 4/5 rating. However, this item is now considered the ultimate backscratcher by multiple members of my family who wound up with them as a Christmas presents. Something about the teeth, the angle, the long handle all make this a phenomenal 5+/5 back scratcher. Go figure.
