Wife has five pair she's collected over 20? years.

The wife says "they last too long". Thus hindering her 'need' to go get another pair when she sees a color she loves. Fashion aside, Chacos have the best ergonomic fit because of the design of the footbed and the most adjustable straps or webbing. A great, professional, outdoor shoe salesperson can slowly adjust the strap to give you a perfect fit before you leave the store. After you wear them a bit you'll probably going to want to adjust them, so Pay Attention to how the webbing is fed thru the sole. Not difficult, just need to know how. Although her 20 year old pair of Chacos has survived three teething pups, numerous painting projects, hiking 10,000' mountains and numerous scrambles up rocky slopes. The wife tore a muscle in her calf and needed numerous visits with a Physical Therapist (PT). The PT would show other patients her Chacos, saying they'd all have 'Happy feet, legs and backs .... wearing Chacos might get y'all walking more if they make your body less painful". The PT did however, recommend purchasing a new pair at least every year to maintain maximum cushioning. That applies to most footwear. Three to six months maximum cushioning with cheaper imitations. Hope this helps you realize these are an invaluable investment for your best overall wellness. PS I'm a real spouse of a Chaco Lifer and this opinion is unsolicited. Be Happy Stay Healthy

Chaco durability gone downhill

I’ve been buying Chaco sandals for 20 years now. Honestly, I wish Id kept my earlier sandals and had them resolled. The new sandals do not hold up to the daily walking and hiking in the Summer. The new, cheap soles wear awkwardly. My newest pair only lasted two years before the sole was done, and the straps were frayed. My original pair from 20 years ago lasted my over 5 years with daily wear and tear, they had vibram soles which made a huge difference. I do not suggest this inferior quality for hiking or outdoor adventuring. If you just wear Chacos for gentle walking a couple of times a week they should be fine. Do not purchase the double thinner straps, they look cute but rib your toes raw, and fray quickly. I highly suggest the wider single strap, and Vibram soles, trust me it’s worth the extra expense!

Not pleased

I’ve heard that Chacos are great summer hiking sandals, but I found that they pinched my feet in the strangest places, where each of the straps entered the foam of the shoe. This is in addition to spending $40 of my REI voucher on these shoes which then came to me with mud caked on the bottom (they had obviously been bought, worn, returned, then sold to me as new without REI even bothering to clean them off first). Not super pleased that they couldn’t exchange the shoe when I brought up that situation, since it was the last pair in that size in stock.

Love my Chacos

I bought these a little bit ago ago and I'm really happy about them. I took a trip to Spain and they were great for walking around and sightseeing. I also wore them on a hike and kayaking and they worked great. I love how useful they are for multiple situations. They take a while to break in and they're pretty uncomfortable for that time but afterwards they're incredibly comfortable. To break them in try to wear them every day, and wear them for as long as possible. Put them on in the morning or whenever and take them off when your feet start to hurt. You will start being able to wear them for longer and longer and you shouldn't develop blisters. These are great shoes and I would recommend them to everyone!

My Go-To shoe!

I bought these shoes at the beginning of the summer, and they have been so helpful! From hiking in the deserts of California to strolling through the jungle in Thailand to simple day-to-day wear, these Chacos have served all of my needs. I love the one-strap durability as opposed to two-strap; my foot feels more secure, especially when hiking. I was having foot problems at the beginning of summer, but after wearing these Chacos almost every day, my foot problems have gone away. Great arch support and comfort. Would recommend to everyone.

has to return..twice

So comfortable. Bought them in May and wore them all over Alaska.. but then the fabric in the strap had a pull on it. Then three weeks after exchanging them for the same style the side of the shoes started peeling. Not super impressed with that. If you spend $100 on sandal I’d hope they would last a summer at least. But don’t get me wrong. Super comfortable, super adorable. I cried in the REI parking lot when they couldn’t replace them.

My wife loves these

I have had a pair of Chacos for about 3 years, and my wife decided to get a pair of her own. She is loved these sandals. She said they are very comfortable from the first time she wore them - no break-in time needed!

Not Happy

I love the footbed and arch support but the straps continually tighten around my big toe and top of my foot as I walk. I'm always having to adjust them. I will be returning. :(

Comfort and quality!

Chaco's are my favorite sandals because I can wear them with anything and they are the most comfortable sandals I have ever worn in my entire life. My first pair I had for 4 years before I bought my second pair. They lasted through lots and lots of hiking, a 3 week wilderness trip, being submerged under water countless times, just lots of hard wear. They are totally worth the money!

Great Support for Bad Knees!

A friend recommended these sandals since I have bad knees. They are truly worth every single penny. I have flat feet & have knee pain from time to time. Comfort & great support are what I describe these great shoes. They have made me not have pain after a weekend of walking. Shoes that don't cause me pain after extensive walking are what I value the most.
