magic!
These pants are seriously amazing. I got them in black, wore them to bike to work the next day and then walked right into the office without changing. they're stretchy and marvelously comfortable like a pair of yoga pants, but fit and drape like real grown-up pants. there are also ample real pockets, 2 in front and one in back. I have really big cyclist legs and based on the photos I was afraid they would be tight in the thighs and too big on top (story of my life) but the fit is really spot-on. I would actually say they might look a little saggy on someone who has a bigger midsection relative to their thighs/butt. if mountain hardware ever came out with a pair in olive khaki i would not need to own any other pants.

Perfect at first but material wears quickly
I absolutely loved these pants at first glance - they were perfect in terms of comfort, style, and fit. I bought them without hesitation. I'm so disappointed to say that, after 3-4 washes, the material has pilled horribly across pretty much the entirety of the pants. I had only been wearing the pants while traveling (no intense hiking or climbing), so I'm surprised that the lifespan of these pants would be so short. Normally, I would return these. But unfortunately I'm living abroad for the next few years, so that won't be an option for me.

fits waist wonderfully & esp if you avoid cameltoe

The fit is great! I despise camel toe so these are very comfy in the crotcheal area! and I have a small waist and a bubble butt and they fit my butt and don't have a giant gap at the low back waist like most pants. And there is a zipper pocket that actually fits a phone. But the fabric attracts every piece of lint within a mile radius. I am constantly covered in lint that won't come off. I have spent hours picking lint balls off of these pants. unfortunately I bought 4 pairs. Oh well. I'd order 12 pairs of these pants in every color of the rainbow if I could get them in a nice smooth non-lint catching fabric.

Lightweight and comfortable

These pants were everything I needed for cool and warm-weather hiking. They were lightweight, water-resistant (drops bead on the pants at first, then they absorb) and EXTREMELY comfortable. Trees and bushes rubbed against the pants, but did not catch, so no ripping happened; the fabric is indeed abrasion-resistant and there is enough hip room and stretch to handle steep ascents. I was skeptical about the price and from all of the positive reviews, but I am so impressed with these pants! I do not recommend them for cold/snowy or very wet hiking, but they were fine with misty rain and cooler temperatures. I can't wait to wear these on my next hike. These were worth every dollar!

My Favourite Hiking Pants

Hands down the most versatile and comfortable hiking pants I have ever worn. These are my go-to for day hiking, backpacking, and travelling. My first pair is from 2016 and are in great condition after being used about 2-4 hike days per month and on many weekend- to week- long backpacking trips. The material is stretchy and soft enough to allow for all the movement necessary for hiking, plus can be pulled up to calf or knee height. Nothing clings, but the waist band keeps these in place all day. There are two pretty deep pockets (don't keep your phone in them...), plus a really handy zip pocket on the thigh (that you can keep your phone in). The material dries really quickly, and even when wet doesn't feel totally gross. Super easy to wash while on the trail.

So cozy

Love these! From the first day I bought them I didn't want to take them off. I'm 125#, 5'6", and I decided to go with an xs to have a more slim fit. They fit like a cropped legging, but with room in the waist and hips. Very flattering. Only complaint: and consider yourself warned: They snag VERY easily. Thank you REI for accepting the return, and I plan to get another pair and be more careful. These aren't hike-through-the-brush pants. They're more bike-to-work-and-walk-around-the-city pants.

Everything I was looking for but they pilled so fa

Being 5'2" and 97 lbs, it can be really hard to find hiking pants in most outdoor brands that will fit me properly! Iwas so glad to come across this as it has everything I want (mostly elastic waistband and being roomy but not too roomy in the leg). I wore them for a couple of casual short hikes in 100 degree weather and they kept me cool which was great as I have a skin condition that gets incredibly irritating and itchy when the weather gets dry and hot (which didn't with these pants). However recently, I wore them on two longer hikes which meant I had to sit down on rocks often to rest. I washed them in between each hike but it wasn't until the second wash that i noticed the butt area is so obviously pilled! I'm still wearing them as no one will care out on hikes but it is disappointing to see the material is not as hardy as I thought it was.

Outstanding

I bought these pants for a lightweight summer pant for travel and casual wear. These pants are very light and fit beautifully and wash well. The black is not a deep black but more a charcoal/black but still great. I immediately bought another pair in the other color and would buy more if more colors were availlable. I'm 5'4", 147# and bought the large - perfect for me.

You'll never want to take them off

These pants are so incredibly comfortable! I was looking for a lightweight, athletic-type pant that would be suitable for both casual work attire as well as traveling. These pants were perfect for a day of traveling! They are light enough that when you are in humid areas you aren't sweating bullets, but they are also heavy enough that on the plane you won't get cold. These are like sweatpants for work.

Super versatile

Can't recommend these highly enough. They travel well, are durable, dry quickly and are breathable, and the fit is perfectly slim but not clingy. These are what I pack when I don't know what my days will have in store - I've worn them on hikes in humid Central American forests and snowy NH mountains, and bumming around cities and brewery hopping (pictured). I usually wear a size 10 and have big quadzillas, and the size L is perfect.
