Great addition to the Nomad, but needs longer installation bolts

I purchased my Nomad and Cargo rack recently and finally got around to the install this weekend. After spending a frustrating hour trying to get the top of the rack installed with the provided bolts, I finally improvised with a quick trip to the local hardware store. I had to get a couple of bolts that were 1cm longer than the provided bolts as well as a couple of 1/2 cm nylon bushings. With the new bolts/bushings, the rack install took all of 5 minutes. The provided rear bolts fit perfectly. I love the Nomad and the rack, but took away one star for the need to get the proper hardware for the top bolts. I saw earlier comments to the same effect, so thinking this is a known issue.

Fantastic addition to a great trailer but...

...the reviews were correct. The screws were too short to fit the newest version of the trailer. I also spent an hour (wish I had read the reviews first to save me time) trying to finagle this thing into submission but no luck. I'm going to have to hit the hardware store to get a couple longer screws to fit.

Poor quality, doesn't fit

The rack is a great concept but poorly executed. Burley seems to have poor QA as the rack does not fit the trailer. It's a half inch too wide and impossible to mount with the supplied hardware. There is a large gap between the bracket and the top holes it's supposed to screw into. Even with longer screws, this would likely fail under weight.

It does not fit the trailer

The top mounting is too wide for the trailer. I have to get longer screws and some bushings. What the heck is wrong with Burley that they ship a $90 rack that doesn't fit. Not even close. This is a great way to manage brand reputation. If I can't get it to work after the hardware store I will have no choice but to return it.

Wrong size

This is a great idea. If only it would fit my Burley Nomad Trailer. It does not. It's too small to attach to top of the frame. I'm very disappointed. Why would Burley make different sizes? We'll have to return this.

Nomad Cargo Rack

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was surprisingly easy to install as long as you don't tighten down all the bolts until you have all 4 theaded. Wasn't happy with the bottom 2 attached so close to the canvas bottom and the bolts rough ends, definitely would cause holes so I purchased 3/8" rubber screw protectors, black or yellow, and cut off just enough to cover the bolt end and nut. Perfect! The push buttons for lifting and folding of the racks positions is not done easily with fingers, almost impossible! I had an old rubber tipped stylus pen that was just thick enough to push in the spring loaded tabs but not enough to push the tabs completely into the tubes! Beware if that happens, you'll say things that'll make a sailor blush! I love the additional space for gear and with the bungee cargo net and an extra backpack rain cover it makes for a great ride, unexpected rain or shine! Highly Recommend

Rack does not fit the nomad

The rack does not fit the top attachment points. It's either too wide or too narrow depending on how much time one spends trying to make it fit. For the price, this is unacceptable. I will try the hardware store and get nylon spacers and longer bolts. If that doesn't work I will have to return the rack. I expected top quality from Burley. Very disappointed.

Awesome rack!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this rack last month and I really like it. I have enough storage inside the trailer for all my gear but needed a place for my solar panel. The rack is a perfect size for that, plus it's easy to lift the rack up to get to my gear.

10 Days in Yellowstone with a tandem

Rack worked great. We were supposed to stay in all the lodges but that was Covid cancelled. We purchased a rack for our Nomad and were able to to strap our large sleeping pads to the top. It made for a great trip.

The trailer end rack are

The trailer end rack are just the ticket for the transcontinental tour that I’ll be making in March 2023. I’ve used across Florida and am actively using it now for preparation for my 2023 trip.
