Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keep them waterproofed I have worn these for several years. Make sure you put water proofing seal on the outside before your first trip. I know it is hard to cover the beautiful leather, but it is a must. You will stay dry and protect the seam from water damage that shortens the life of your boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Asolo Women's Hiking Boots These boots have great ankle support, a comfortable fit, and keep your feet dry. I can hike an entire day with no adverse effects. I recommend them to everyone I know that are buying hiking boots. I even recommend them to people I don't know who are shopping in the store. There may be other great brands out there, but Asolo has my heart AND my feet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most durable pair of boots. Ever. I bought a pair of these last April. They have lasted an entire season working on a backcountry trail crew in Northern Idaho where we were hiking about 70 miles a week in unforgiving terrain. There was no break-in period, and instantly were the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. The finish on the leather does scuff off, but it doesn't affect anything but the looks. They're still holding strong and going into their 2nd season of trail work in Montana.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fell apart after 2 years. Expected more. The soles came COMPLETELY off at the top of a 6,000 foot 3rd class scramble. I had to use paracord to hold my boot together for the descent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from comfortable and great support I bought them for hiking on Rocky terrain/seasonal mostly spring/summer. I wore them right way on a 10 mile hike. I didn't even break them in. great! no blisters. ever time I wear them I love them more. after I fracture my right ankle these were wonderful support to start all over. no problems so far. I do waterproof them to help with the up keep., last longer. they do weight a little bit wore but I don't notice that when I wear them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for snow activities! I bought these a couple weeks ago and wore them while hiking in compact snow (with microspikes & gaiters) and ice climbing (with crampons & gaiters). They kept my feet warm and dry. I was a bit hesitant to spend so much money on new boots initially but after a few uses, I definitely think it was a good buy. As they are very sturdy and durable, I'll definitely be using them for many more years to come.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I can't walk without the support. The shoes are fine. I wear them because I have stretched out tibial tendons in both feet, not because I hike a lot. The problems was that I could not locate my $60 coupon, based on my spending $600 at REI during 2016. Your system showed that I had spent only $300. I would appreciate getting credit for the other $300 that I spent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phenomenal boots I love these boots. They are sturdy, well made, and extremely comfortable. I've been stoked to take them out on the trails as often as I can. Well worth the price; highly recommend.

I work in the desert and typically log over 800 hiking miles in the summer. Would these Shoes be too hot?

Asked by: perabanana
Depending on where you will be hiking and what the air temperature is, you may be too hot. If you will be hiking in extremely hot environments you may want to consider a boot with mesh for more breathability.

I have very wide feet (I currently have a pair of tennis shoes that are size 7 but are double wide), will this boot fit me? I am going to Montana for conservation work and am trying to find a sturdy pair of boots that will accommodate my wide feet.

Asked by: maureenks7
The wide widths are a women's "C". Feet that are double wide may work, but trying them on is the only way to be sure.

Recommend these boots for winter (~2500' ascent) hikes using mountaineering snowshoes+microspikes?  Trying to find good boots similar to my old ones (Merrell Whiteout).  I have Asolo summer boots and LOVE them- hoping there is a good Asolo winter boot.

Asked by: HighPeaks46
These boots are a great choice. They will also accept strap-on mountaineering crampons.

The Berkeley REI store does not have my size (8 1/2). Can I order a pair and return them to the store if they do not fit?

I wear a size 8 which is usually a 39. This book says that 7.5 is a 30. Should I order an 8 or a 71/2? I worry about them being too small but I do have a narrow foot. Can I order both sizes and return one to the Berkeley store (who does not have these siz

Most people feel these boots run true to size. If your normal size is an 8, go with the 8. Yes, you can order both sizes and return one or both to the Berkeley store.

Can you use crampons with these boots? I bought them to climb Kiliminjaro (no crampons needed) but am also climbing Mt. Baker in August and am debating using these or renting true mountaineering boots.

Asked by: ara123
These boots can be used with strap-on mountaineering crampons:
