I was used to discs

I been spoiled on my mountain and hybrid bikes all having disc brakes, so when I made the switch to a road bike I was a bit concerned on the quality of braking. I saw reviews and studies on Jagwire brakes and decided to try them out. I was recently caught in a downpour and I can say these brake pads would still do their job. I did not feel worried about my breaking as much as I was on visibility. I have recommended these a friend and he too felt the improvement over the stock brakes on our Treks.

Great stopping power dry

I pick up a few sets on clearance at REI this week (Aug 2022). They were under thee bucks. I live in PHX and you are probably wondering why I bought them. I read that they are a softer compound than the black and offer great stopping power wet or dry. After installing, they are much better than the old tekro brake pads that they replaced. I normally use the salmon (aka Scott Mathauser) compound that you can find in Yokozuna or Kool Stop brake shoes. I am interested to see if they are just as good. Time will tell. You will be happy with these especially as the price of brake shoes seem to be the only thing bucking the trend of inflation. Also the red looks great against black rims too.

Only choice for all weather biking

I commute on a mid-range road bike 5 days/week in Seattle and these are the only brake pads I’ll use. 90+ days of rain riding per year and they’ve never let me down.

Gotta Stop Bro

I ride on the road a ton and seems like I need to replace my brake pads once or twice a year. These fit my shamino brakes and are easy to install. Will be buying more in the near future.
