Tough versatile belt.
Bought this belt to replace an older belt that had worn out, in preparation for a summer job working at as a dive master on catalina island. This belt as held up very well to months of daily wear in a hot, wet ocean environment. Didn't warp or weaken even when sweated though or exposed to salt water. Perfect amount of stiffness, this belt is build to last, but still has a decent amount of flex. It even makes a decent CCW belt in a pitch, able to hold a surprising amount of weight without loosening. will defiantly be buying more in the future in different colors. after a year and a half of use, there are some wear makes from were i cinch the belt, but other then that, still going strong.
Yessssss, I will buy another!
Definitely long enough for a 36” waistline...maybe even a tad to long. Great build quality! Stiff, but flexible. It holds wherever you draw it to and it doesn’t slide or loosen at all during the day. Think it’s stiff enough to support a holster with a lite firearm. Love the color! Matches jeans and my Arc’teryc (sp?) hiking pants.
Used it to recover an ATV
I bought this belt because I was traveling to Colorado for a vacation and on impulse, bought this belt (you look good, you feel good, you play good). While there, the group decided to rent ATVs for the afternoon. We ended up putting one of the ATVs into a steep ditch, where it was stopped by a tree. We first attempted to reverse the ATV out but it was unable to gain adequate traction and we didn't have any tow straps within our party. I then hooked the belt around another ATV and used it as a tow strap. We were able to recover the ATV and the belt is perfectly fine. I am very impressed by the belt.
Great belt!
I've been looking for a grayish belt that would go well with my Kuhl convertible pants as well as with a pair of jeans. The belt's color is awesome, it can go well with a number of color combinations. It's thick enough for it to fit well within a pants loops. Surprisingly so it does not come loose once you've tightened to your liking. I am 32" waist and the small has plenty of room
Worst belt I've ever bought
Right out of the bag, the stiffness of this thing blew me away. I knew instantly that I was returning it. It's so stiff that when I run the end of the belt through the first part of the buckle, the stiffness makes it hard to get through the next part. And once though, it's very difficult to adjust. A belt to keep your pants up isn't a harness for climbing; it shouldn't require this much work just to put on and undo. Go with more of a quick-release mechanism to keep life simpler. This buckle mechanism might be okay if the belt material was soft and supple. But this webbing (as you can see from my pic) is the opposite extreme.
1-1/2” Wide Belt
I could not find on any website, including REI and Arcteryx, the width of this belt, so wanted to post it here. Just picked it up today and it looks like it will be an OK belt. Hope that the buckle is aluminum and not white or pot metal, as I am allergic. Wish they still had the darker grey...
Belt lengths all over the place, not even close.
I took a gamble based on all the other reviews - which were spot-on. The label that comes with the belt says it is 43", the belt is actually 40.5", and website shows 41.7". All three could be right? At first, I ordered the medium last week. It showed up and wrapped about 1.5 times around my waist - holy cow, the thing was long. I looked at measurements for the small belt, measured my waist, returned the medium, and ordered the small. When it arrived, the small belt was more than an inch shorter than the website's advertised length and it was 2.5" shorter than the actual label on the belt. The lengths and sizes are all inconsistent, it really is a gamble finding one that is the exact measurement. If it's the exact measurement on the website, that's great...but it's not. If it's the exact measurement on the label, that's great...but it's not. If it was the exact measurement, I would have been happy with this. Unfortunately, I'm returning this one as well because of the inconsistent sizing. Alas.

Plastic end coming off
Started out very happy with this belt but about 3-4 months into use the belt webbing began to pull out of the rivet that holds the black plastic end on and it is now frayed and making it difficult to put on and take off. Rest of the belt is in great shape but this just keeps getting worse.
Sizing is way off
It's surprisingly hard to find a belt of reasonable length when you have a 30" waist, so I was happy to see that the S for this belt could accommodate 27-32" and was willing to shell out the extra scratch. But Arc'teryx did an awful job of sizing here - the S is a 40" belt, and it cannot easily be modified to be made shorter, aside from cutting, which would be sloppy and defeat the otherwise slick look of the belt. So the belt holds my pants up, but the excess part goes a third of a way around my waist a second time - ridiculous! The Arc'teryx product team really should reconsider their specs around sizing these belts.
Conveyor Belt 38 Weird Sizes
Bought a small after seeing reviews that you should buy a size down (I'm a 34W for pant size) but only had the plastic tab as excess and wasn't sure that was going to be a long term solution. Exchanged for a medium and that was WAYYYYY more excess than I would prefer. I measured each from buckle to tail and small was about 41" while a medium was around 49" (photo included). Label that came with the belt reads 43" and 45.5" respectively. Seems like great quality belt but just a heads up on sizes. I've been wearing a similar belt from another company for 5 years and this seems like much higher quality construction.
