Best piece of climbing gear I have ever bought

Like the title says, of all the climbing gear I have ever bought I love this thing the most. It's so simple and works so well. Definitely should be the standard personal anchor system for safely attaching at the top anchor while setting up your top rope or rappel for cleaning a route.

Makes Cleaning Routes a Breeze

I purchased the Petzl Connect with the intention of making it easier to clean routes. It is by far one of the best pieces of climbing gear that I own. I can clip it to the bolt at the top of the run and adjust it by simply pulling the slack out of the lanyard. You don't always have great foot holds while cleaning up a route, and the Petzl Connect always allows you to get to a comfortable position without being limited to a predetermined length of a web sling. Then, when you are done cleaning the route, it only takes one hand to take the tension off the Petzl Connect and either repel down the rock or be lowered down by your belayer. The other thing that the Petzl Connect is great for is if you're heavier than your belayer, you can clip it to one of your quick draws and take a break while allowing your belayer take the tension off their belay device and rest without having to hold your weight on a route and you won't loose any ground and you won't wear out your belayer.

Excellent Purchase

I purchased this right before a trip to The Red, and it genuinely is the best piece of gear on my rack. There was a climb we hit at night, where the situation got a little bit sketch. The climber didn’t feel safe on the wall anymore, so she used this to connect herself to the wall while she set up a bail carabiner and cleaned her gear. It’s been so useful in many, many more situations after that. Saved me from what could have been a really, really bad whip. 10/10

Love it

I was about to buy the standard Metolius PAS 22 when the REI guy talked me into this. I was hesitant to spend the extra $16 but am happy I did. I love this thing, and all my climbing buddies leave the crag saying "I'm going to get one now".

No re-clip adjustments

Great device. No re-clip adjustment which is a great safety feature. No built in redundancy for a second clip.

Saw a friend use it and had to have it!

The Petzl Connect Adjust Lanyard is so easy and convenient for clipping into anchors on rock and ice. It allows the climber to easily adjust you distance from the anchor with one hand. I haven't used this one yet, but used a friends and just had to add it to my rack.
