Its a bottle cap
I gained access to the water bottle. I positioned it securely on the table. The old cap strap had broken after 4 years of daily use. I grasped the remaining part on the bottle and pried it off. I then analyzed the new replacement part and determined I had to slip the ring part over the threads on the bottle and forcefully pry and pull it down until it seated in the groove. Once seated I proceeded to fill the bottle with water. I then threaded the new cap on turning it clockwise until it seated. I then turned the water bottle upside down and ensured there were no leaks. After passing the leak test I cleaned the work area and returned the bottle to its storage place, prepared for future use.
So glad I didn't have to buy a whole new bottle
The top to one of my Nalgene bottles got fried in the dishwasher and I thought I'd have to replace the whole bottle. Delighted to find out I could buy this replacement part which works like a charm.
New lids, old bottles
Screws on nice! I have 2 older water bottles, probably the ones with bisphenol-a, but now they're brand new and back in service. Thank you.

No leakers
I use the Nalgene bottle all the time. So glad they sell these replacement closures as I’m always accidentally melting them in the dishwasher. These are great and I’ve had no issues with leakers.
Color is not what's shown in picture
Thought this was a bright blue cap to match my blue nalgene but the color is a muted matte blue. It will work fine but just an fyi- color is off.
Easy fix to prolong the life of a favorite Nalgene
This is the second replacement cap I've purchased. I'm glad Nalgene still makes these available!
Thought I rehabbed my nalgene
I bought this new bottle top for my leaking Nalgene bottle as the bottle as a product was no longer under warranty ( 1 year). I was surprised there was not a longer warranty on my original Nalgene bottle as you would think a year is a short time unless it was shattered. either there is something imperceptible wrong with the bottle or I bought a dud.
Poor design
The strap attachment to the cap cracks off very easily. It not an expensive part but buying replacement caps is inconvenient.
