Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy Duty - Great Product and Service I bought this Canopy at the end of this past winter and used it fomr a couple of events I had and couldnt be happier with the quality along with the size and price of it. I recently Broke one of the footplates and contacted the manufacturer directly and they were more then helpful with supplying me with replacements and did it quickly with no hesitation. Having a Roller bag would be nice but I know for $18 you can get one of the portable Luggage racks with wheels from walmart and works just as good if not better. Thank you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from needs wheels I bought this to replace a 12 year old EZ-UP after seeing one at a swim meet last year. I agree the build quality is really good, but this is a big, heavy piece of equipment and the storage bag doesn't have wheels like every other canopy bag I've ever seen. I returned it as transporting this 200-300 yards like we often need to do will be pretty much impossible for my wife if I'm not going to the same event. Also, unlike my EZUP of the same 10' size, this is too long to put sideways in the back of our Honda Odyssey. I would have to fold down the rear seat to carry it lengthwise in the van, eliminating 2 seating positions which are precious with carpooling other teammates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must Have! I purchased an ez-up shelter for a trip to the beach with the family, but while we were using it the frame to the leg bent from a small wind gust and the hardware for the frame cracked. ill never buy a ez-up shelter again, and i wont recommend them either. A close friend told me about there Caddis Rapid Shelter the got from REI and how the've had it for almost 5 years now with no problems at all. So i bought one! This shelter is so strong! by far much more stable than the ez-up shelter that broke on me. The Quality of this shelter meets all my expectations by far! and if anyone wants a shelter that holds up, this is what id recommend. Quality over Quantity im sure this Caddis Rapid Shelter will last much longer than the cheaply made imposters out there. Thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ARS--Aluminum Rapid Shelter I have been using my ARS 10'x10' canopy for 4 years. It has withstood the rigors of time and intemperate weather without a hiccup. I bought much longer/stronger stakes for guying out the canopy, and carry 5-gallon Home Depot buckets (with lids) for securing the canopy where the ground disallows stakes. 5 stars seems in order for the canopy itself. The walls get 4 stars because no center zipper option is available. (To make a door in any of the sides) Great product. Guy this baby out properly and it will serve you long and well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Storm--no problem On my first use of the Rapidshelter, a very unusual August wind and rainstorm hit the Oregon coast location where we were camping. I probably should have taken the shelter down to protect my investment, but that wouldn't have been so easy in the wind. I did add some additional stakes. It's true, as another reviewer wrote, that the small stakes that come packaged with the Rapidshelter are totally inadequate for anchoring such a large canopy. I purchased 4 spike-type stakes for $1 each, and when the wind kicked up I added more stakes (there are two large holes in each sturdy foot). It held, and no damage was done to the shelter in the 24 hours that the winds persisted. In our campground we saw several other pop-ups in ruin, and a park truck drove by heaped with mangled lightweight pop-up frames. Rapidshelter passed its trial by wind!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best by FAR My girlfriend bought this a few weeks ago and I used it this weekend. I can not even began to explain how good the quality is. From the very durable top to the frame that is a work of precision this shelter so much nicer than any other I have used at any price. Since I won't be able to borrow hers all the time,I am on my way to buy my own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When you need it most My group has used this several times and we have been verysatisfied by how well it has held up along with how easy it goes up and comes down. this past weekend we saw some crazy weather. With that said, we where at a event that several people had various shelters set up. Ours was the only one that did nit leak through the top. this may not seem like a big deal but on that day for us it was all the difference in the world. Good job on making the best shelter we have found.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice and easy I got this at the Portland store a few months ago and have used it almost every weekend. The thing that stands out most to me is how well it hlds up and keeps that new feeling. It is built very much like a German car. Very good quality without a bunch of gimick frills. The top is very heavy duty as well as the frame. It goes up and down so easy that I can easily do it myself but having 2 people really helps.

Can one person put this tent up alone?

Asked by: sugarchef
Almost. To open, I can spread the canopy out myself, carefully pulling from one corner to another gradually so you don't put too much stress on a joint. Then I can go to the center and push up to spread further. But I find I need someone to press up in the center pushing the roof up while I go to one or 2 of the corners and snap in place. Then I can snap the remaining corners in place without help. I can close the canopy myself without assistance. First time setup takes a little longer as you spread the fabric over the frame while it is mostly unfolded but not snapped fully open. Have a stool handy or jump if you are less then 5ft8in. After the canopy fabric top is in place, it can be folded for storage and reopened without removing the fabric top.

Is the packed length really 63"? The bed of my truck is only 60". Also when upright, what is the height from the ground to the canopy, if you were walking underneath it?

Asked by: 17TRDSport
The packed length is in fact 63 x 9.5 x 8.7 inches. This canopy height adjusts from 10.3 – 11ft.

What's the best way to clean and waterproof the side walls of my Caddis rapid shelter

Asked by: Terry Nappier
We suggest washing the shelter and walls with warm soapy water. Please rinse thoroughly and dry completely before storage. The walls are intended to create shade and a waterproof treatment is not suggested.

Is the tab / feet at the bottom of the poles collapsable?  The specs say the pole is 1" diameter which is perfect but I am afraid the tabs / feet might stop the poles from fitting into what I plan to use to keep this guy in place.

Asked by: seizetoday
The footpads on each corner are not collapsible, they are fixed.
