Mammut Eternity 9.8mm x 70m Dry Rope
This product is not available.
The Eternity dry-treated rope is the most versatile, go-anywhere, climb-anything rope Mammut makes. The 9.8mm diameter keeps it light enough to move fast, yet it's durable enough to really thrash.
Shop similar products- 9.8mm size is light enough to move fast and keep your pack small, yet also durable for the rigors of climbing, so it's ideal for just about any climber and any route
- New dry treatment meets the UIAA standard for water repellency, absorbing just 1% of its weight in water even after surface abrasion, making the rope more durable
- Special heat treatments incorporated into the dry process also increase the tenacity of the nylon fibers, making it 120% more abrasion resistant than a non-treated rope
- Dry treatment provides a lubricating effect on the fibers of the rope, which reduces fiber-on-fiber friction to allow the rope to hold additional falls before going flat
- The thick (38% by weight), compact sheath improves the abrasion resistance and lifespan of the rope
- 70m length allows extended leads and rappels on modern routes
- Black-dye middle marker clearly shows the middle of the rope for additional security when rappelling and lowering
- Eternity 9.8mm x 70m rope is bluesign® certified

Even comes marked
Got this on a good sale, I usually only buy ropes on sale so I tend to get the more value oriented brands, this one was an exceptional deal, am very impressed that this Mammut came marked in the center and tied with butterfly coils rather than the normal spool coils the manufacturers normally use. Haven’t climbed with it yet but it’s got the specs I need for a crag rope and the price was right, it’s a rope at the end of the day, but a nice one indeed.
Good all around rope
Good all around rope, wear resistant, weighs just right, tough yet smooth, Dry sheath & core, priced right and a beauty (web picture doesn't justify how nice it looks). Works well smack in the sweet spot of GriGri+, Petzl Rescucender. Just the right equipment I need. Thanks to REI.
First rope
The mammut line came highly recommended by the rei staff ( many of whom have become first name basis friends ) and i have to say i have a mammut harness and was very pleased. The rope kept to that trend, very manageable, and ive taken a couple of falls and i trust it completely.
Great all around
Good flexibility, right amount of stretch, and not overly burdensome. It is a great rope for indoor or outdoor and can't wait to use the heck out of this spring
There are much MUCH better ropes
I hate to say it, but this just isn't a good rope. This was my first climbing rope, and I chose it based on the generally good reviews. After using it for a climbing season alongside using friends ropes, it just doesn't match up. It doesn't feed well through a grigri, and the pigtails are a nightmare. I have a 10.1mm Petzl Mambo for the gym that feeds far better despite the extra thickness. After the pigtails made me short rope my trad leader at the Creek, I was about ready to throw it in the campfire when I got back to camp. I've been short roped several times leading on it myself. My belayer always apologizes and I feel compelled to assure them it's not their fault. No matter how often I run it through quickdraws, the pigtails are back after a few pitches. I'm currently in the market for a Sterling. Evidently the extra cost is worth it.
Expected better quality
After reading lots of great reviews about this rope I was disappointed. It is too stiff and fuzzed up way too fast compared to Sterling roped I've had. Tried a new brand and got disappointed.
All I needed
A very smooth, solid rope. After (only) two outdoor days, I have no complaints.
Great Rope
Great rope! I've been climbing with it fairly heavily for 1.5 years. No big lead falls but lots of leading and top roping with it. It's just now starting to get a little fuzzy in a few places but it still has life left.
