Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective? Footprint was smaller than the tent Love the tent but not the foot print!! Went to Lost Maples (Texas) backpacking trip and I got the Hornet 2P due to its light weight. Set up was in the dark and was a breeze (I also practiced at home before trip). The foot print was not very intuitive. There is a grommet hole to let you know which end is which- but the other side where the 2 stakes were- the plastic square ring on the footprint snapped and broke. But, the most irritating thing was that there was about 5" of tent NOT covered with the footprint. This left rock and dirt imprints on the tent floor where it wasn't protected. It thunderstormed that night with 22 mph wind gusts and the tent did impressively well. DRY. I'm returning the print and getting another one since. It's less than 2 weeks old.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great I used it for the first time this past weekend. No problems at all. The only thing is it would be much easier to figure out how to connect it to the tent if they would be a small piece of paper in the pouch about the "C" clamps and how they connect. The other end is obvious. Otherwise no problems.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too short Took this to Acadia National Park and found out during the set up that the footprint was 5 or 6 inches too short! Luckily, we took a plastic tarp/drop cloth with us, so we had no water in the tent, but that would have a disaster.

Can you give directions on how to use this foot print with the tent. It's definitely not intuitive.

Asked by: Jerry
First, you need to make sure the footprint is oriented to match the tapered floor of the tent. Once the tent is pitched on top of the footprint, you will notice a webbing loop that attaches the "Jakes Foot" pole receiver to the tent in each corner. The footprint has two plastic "C" clips in front that will slide around the webbing loop mentioned. You may have to rotate the "C" clip first to expose the small opening on the side that will accept the webbing. Simply slide the webbing into the gap in the "C" clip and snug back towards the tent. The guyout points in the back two corners of the footprint and tent can then be staked out together and tightened with the small cord to remove any slack in both components.
