Great Backcountry Clean-up
I recently took a pack of these on a 4 day rim-to-rim trip across the Grand Canyon. They performed as advertised and work very well. These wipes cut through the sweat on my arms and legs and left my skin fresh enough for a night's sleep. Each wipe is large enough to cover larger areas (like calves or thighs). I was able to get a complete cleanup from one wipe, but it was fairly dry after doing my entire body. My skin felt fresh and not sticky; there was very little residual smell. Since the fabric of the wipe is compostable, I left them in the pit toilets. Again, they work very well and it was great to be able to freshen up before climbing in the sleeping bag.

NOT BIODEGRADABLE, MADE FROM OIL
These are not bio-degradable and are made from synthetic fibers, why would you want to use these in the wilderness you love and enjoy?

Better thanthe next best thing.

I bought these for 2-4 day trips on the AT and even take them along on day hikes an some of my long runs. They don't leave any residue and they don't have have sent so the clean leaves you feeling refreshed not sticky and like you need to wash again. The small size and light weight makes them easy to carry in a pocket or add to a pack with out worrying about space and weight issues. I picked them up on a whim before a 3 day on the Allegheny Front Trail and now they are standard in my kit. I highly recommend them.

Refreshing!

These are very refreshing for a sponge bath type of cleanup. The wipes are soft, absorbent, clean up a lot of dirt and sweat, and feel nice. There is no smell that I can tell, and I am very sensitive to modern cleaner smells. There is the right amount of wetness, not too much, not too little, but they are heavy compared to a dry mini-towel and small bottle of soap that wil last much longer for less weight.

These deserve an A+

I was Impressed by these little wipes. Took them on a backpacking trip and used them both morning and night to freshen up. I have Sensitive skin so I was A bit nervous they were going to dry me out, but after using I still felt moisturized! One wipe goes a long way too! It was nice to be able to climb into the sleeping bag without feeling sticky at the end of the day, or to feel refreshed in the morning.

Worth the extra weight

I like to travel fast and light on the trail, but for me these are totally worth their weight. After miles of heat and sweat, they are perfect for washing the away the worst of the day's grime before slipping into your camp layers. Very refreshing, especially when you have limited access to fresh water. The thick (for a wipe), spongy material almost seems to lock dirt away into its inner layers as you wash down. I now bring them along on every 4+ day backcountry trip.

Great Refresher

These work very well when no shower is available, and eliminate the sweat and dirt. It's no replacement by any means, but they do work well with no sticky or gooey film afterwards. I've tried waterless soaps and shampoos, and those always leave me feeling worse than if I'd have used nothing.

Just Buy Them for Pity Sake

Went back and forth for years whether to buy these. Three years ago we bought some for thru hiking Northern sections of PCT. Saved our marriage, some would say! Truly luxurious to wash feet clean(er) after wandering miles of dusty trails and settling into a dry camp. They are superior in every way to smaller and lighter wipes, which won't get the dirt from between your toes.

Good way to freshen up!

I have used these on backpacking trips and extended campouts where there were no showers and limited water for cleaning up. Also great to wipe down after a day of kayaking. As others have said they are not scented and leave no residue so you actually feel clean. The only downside is that if you don't use up the whole package on a trip they tend to dry out just like regular "wet wipes". I store them in a plastic zip bag between trips to help prevent this.

When a paper towel & a hand towel love each other

On a two month camping trip in multiple climates with very limited access to showers or large (enough) bodies of water, these Wilderness Wipes were crucial. I don't love getting into my tent much less my sleeping bag sweaty and dirty from the trail, and these wipes solved this problem easily. I bought them in both sizes, and used the smaller ones for my face neck and feet (after the face and neck were done, obvi), and the larger ones for a fully body wipe down. I have sensitive skin that wasn't at all irritated by the wipes and the smell was subtle and nice. What I like most about them is that they are thick and soft, like if a paper towel and a handtowel had a cute, outdoorsy baby, so they pick up a fair amount of grime without physically irritating my skin. On the same trip I brought another brand that I didn't like nearly as much, so I had to repurchase on the road! I'm going to make it a ritual to swing by REI before any camping trip and pick up a couple of packs before heading out from now on.

Worked for backpacking

I don't have a lot to compare this product to, but I was happy with how it performed on my 3-day backpacking trip. I felt cleaner after I used it. The size of the towels were big enough to clean my whole body. It did not leave a film.
