Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

I love the length of the jacket as I have a long torso and the general cut is fantastic. My only concern is the outside is not ripstop, calendered nylon. I live in Arizona where the plant life seems to snag fabric even if you just look at it. I would have much greater peace of mind if the exterior were ripstop. I've also had a bit of a problem with the down working its way out of the material and not just through the seams (I don't have this problem with my Patagonia down vest) and a calendered nylon would help reduce this problem. Overall the jacket is great for the price, but the lack of ripstop and calendering is why I am giving it four stars.
I got this jacket at an REI Garage Sale last year. Score! It's really nice. Sheds a little, so you may not want to wear a black fleece under it. But if you're camping, who cares? I love this jacket. Keeps out the wind and keeps me toasty. New Year's Eve we camped on the coast in 20 degree night time temps. Wore a fleece, long sleeve shirt, and tank top under it with room for mobility. SO WARM. Did I mention it keeps out the wind? I'm 5'2", 150lbs. The one I got is a large, but I could easily size down to a medium. I wanted extra room for more layers underneath. I also really like that its LONG. Even longer in the back so it doesn't ride up when you bend over.
I purchased this last fall and am in LOVE with it. It fits well, has a slightly tapered, so you don't look like a box, shape and the arms are LONG! I am 5'7" and about 145 lbs. Considered a M or L. Went with the M and it's perfect! Warmth wise, it is outstanding. I live in OK where the wind comes sweeping... and in the 20's-40's I've been toasty warm! I originally purchased this as it was on sale pre holidays and I've been dying for a down jacket, plus am planning a hiking trip to Peru next summer. I now wear this ALL THE TIME. Hoping the black goes on sale again soon so I can get one for my teen daughter!
I have never been disappointed with anything that I have purchased from REI until now! This jacket never ceases to disappoint me, from the thin, thin sleeves (very little down in them) to the unending supply of tiny pieces of down that is shed every time I wear it! And look out if you have a dark colored sweater on - those tiny shards of down embed themselves deep into your sweater & even a lint roller won't pull them out! The warmth level is barely above a light weight sweater. I can add some pro comments: the pockets are large & zippered, and the length is generous. But overall, I would never recommend this 650 Down Jacket to anyone - wish I could return it!
I bought this jacket to use as a light-weight warm layer for camping and hiking. I compared a lot of different jackets and ultimately ended with this one, and I love it. I carry it with me for day hikes as my extra insulation (since it is so light weight it is perfect as the "just in case" layer) and it has also seen me through 15F camping nights with a Smartwool base layer underneath. I was worried that it wouldn't be warm enough, but it holds up well. A few feathers have come out, but not enough to affect the warmth or make me question the quality. The fit is very flattering, much better than some of the other jackets I tried out. REI really did a great job with this one!
I purchased this jacket in teal as a Christmas gift for my daughter, it fit well and looked nice. A huge problem occurred once she started wearing it. Tiny feathers leak out and attach to her clothing. Not just a few feathers, but hundreds of tiny pieces of feather each time she wears it. She chose this jacket because it is light weight and seemed more comfortable than the similar NF jacket, but she does have a longer NF coat that never leaked feathers. She is off on a backpacking trip for several weeks, and extremely disappointed in the quality of this REI Co-Op Down Jacket.
I bought this jacket for winter biking when the temperature is cold but not too cold to need a heavier coat, between about 5º and 25º F. I've been pining after a down sweater for a while, and I bought this jacket as a wallet-saving alternative. I'm very glad I did. I first wore it out in moderate wind, 18ºF, and light snow. The jacket did a great job of blocking the wind, and I had enough wiggle room to really get down over the handlebars. I totally did not need the Patagonia R 0.5 fleece underneath! In moderately cold temps, this jacket does fine on its own. I'm usually a size small, and the extra-small fits well. If I wanted to layer more underneath, I would have sized up to a small.
I've disappointed in this jacket mainly because it is not warm enough; at this price expect better. When temperature falls below 50F, I need to wear at least a fleece jacket under it, on top of a sweater and shirt. Agree with others that said it runs small, I wear Petite Small and size S was too tight, could not fit another layer under. Size M works size -wise and the length and slim fit means it works well under a raincoat, Sleeves are much too long, due to elastic in cuffs can fold them under. Jackets are about the only garment I can consider at REI, due to lack of options for petites. I've given regular feedback over the years, but to not avail.
Odd little jacket--posted by accident on the site for REI Stratocloud Jacket. I just received this so I haven't worn it--and probably won't. It's very, very thin (transparent in the light). Love the magenta color! I ordered a medium, my usual size, and it's pretty snug, especially in the rear because of its long back. That's a feature I like, generally, but it's too tight. The sleeves are very long; I'd have to roll them up if I were to keep it--and I have long arms. I'm 5'4" and 136 lbs with a medium to long torso and pretty broad shoulders. I'm reasonably certain the large would be too big. It's going back to the store!
I got this jacket in the canopy purple and LOVED it at first. The fit was great (less boxy than before and more tailored for a woman's body) and the print was great. Its very packable and it was fairly warm the one time I wore it. The problem was, when I got inside and went to take the jacket off, my shirt under it was covered in feathers! I really wish REI would use better quality fabrics on their brand products, I wanted to love it but had to return it. Guess I'll have to save up for the better quality Patagonia down jacket, those never shed. Also I have a Prana down vest I've never had that problem with, only the REI brand. Bummed.
