These really do have nice features. The traction rails are long and deep, the heel lift makes life easier, and the boa is easier to use than traditional bindings, especially with gloves. However, the bindings could use a little work. There's a pressure point right where the boa dial sits. I could feel it pressing into the top of my foot with each step. It wasn't as bad going uphill as it was going downhill. Mid-journey I already realized these weren't going to do it for me. The design for these snowshoes is mostly plastic. As soon as I took them off, there were a ton of scrapes and one large scratch. Gear is going to have wear and tear, but it shouldn't be that bad right off the bat. Especially when you're using them right. I've used different types of snowshoes and I wouldn't recommend these. Back to the store, they go.
While these were not my first choice when I went shopping for new showshoes, I was glad my options were limited as these have turned out to be great! The bindings are super quick, they provide great flotation, they are lightweight, and I am happy I ended up with these! Definitely a step up over my old Atlas shoes!
I've used snowshoes with strap bindings which tended to come loose. These bindings are great, easy to adjust and to get on and off. I usually use packed snowshoe trails, but have gone "off piste" and haven't had a problem.
I used to love these, but the BOA binding has started to slip. Only 4 years old. And I don't use them heavily.
