Pretty good but could use a better insole
These shoes are kind of light weight and flexible. A bit wide through the toes for a comfortably roomy fit. Easy on and off and heels don't slip when walking. Reason I did not give 5 stars is that the insoles are thin and do not provide much at all in the way of cushioning or support. I took them out and put in different ones with satisfactory results. Could use even a bit more cushioning especially under ball of the foot area, but not enough depth in the toe area to accommodate more thickness. This may not be an issue for others. Overall like the shoes. Versatile design, would be good for travel.
Nice, but too small
I recently ordered the version of these without the strap, but otherwise identical. I've worn a 9 in Merrell Jungle Mocs and other styles for years. When these arrived I realized they're on a completely different last. While attractive, and very light-weight, they're considerably narrower and lower through the insteap and ball of the foot than the Jungle Moc. As a consequence, they're completely unwearable. The next size up would be too long. Unless you have narrower than normal feet, these are not the shoes for you.
Stylish comfort
I'm a diehard Merrell fan, but sometimes it's hard to find a shoe whose style matches the comfort level. This one fits the bill. And it fits the foot. At first, I thought my size 7 was too tight for my wide foot, but after an afternoon of wear, it was very comfortable, which was a good thing, because I really like the way they look and couldn't find a wider size anywhere.
Pretty but not the Merrell I love.
Been wearing Merrell for a decade for work. I am on my feet all day. I am very hard on shoes and always loved that they were light weight and lasted. Wore a similar black clog which seems to be discontinued and bought these as a replacement. Was excited about the look and the small elastic insert. Sometimes my feet swell in the heat and thought this might be great. HOWEVER, when I put these on the difference in construction design was evident. The heal is much lower than in previous designs so you are more flat footed. For me this meant extra fatigue on my legs. The shoe also was a touch longer in size. I have custom inserts and they were about a 1/4" short in the toe which I could feel. This meant my toes would rub that slight edge. In the end I returned them and on the hunt for a new shoe to replace what was once a staple in my foot wear. Merrell...please bring back the old shoe. I am a loyal fan.
Not the quality I'd expected :-(
While in the store, the fit felt perfect, and I assumed the shoes would be up to the usual Merrell quality. However, when I tried wearing them around the house, I discovered that the soles (especially at the ball of the foot) were much, MUCH thinner than I'd expected. When I'd tried them on at the store, it was on a soft carpeted surface, and felt fine. But when I stepped onto the hardwood or linoleum floors at home, I could feel every tiny bump and crack in the flooring :-/ Since the shoes were intended for travel, where I'd be doing a lot of walking on rough pavements/cobblestones, I knew they were NOT going to work out for that purpose! So, sadly, I'm afraid they had to go back :-( It's a shame,, too, because looks-wise, they were EXACTLY what I wanted! Just wish Merrell hadn't skimped on the thickness of the sole! I don't know what changed, but it seems the quality of Merrell products in general has been going downhill over the past few years.
super comfortable
These shoes are ridiculously comfortable. I bought them shortly before a week-long trip to Madrid, where I did some pretty extensive walking every day, and they were great! They feel like bedroom slippers, and they held up well. I got the black color and they look nice, are versatile.
Comfortable every day
I purchased these shoes in black & am loving them for every day with jeans etc this time of year. Easy on/ off which is a plus for me as I have high arches....many slip ons I cannot wear. I think I will buy them in brown as well!! I have other Merrells and these keep to the great quality of my others
Lighter than expected
I do like the way these fit, but they are lighter weight than expected. I was hoping they would be a good work shoe for the rainy winter months in the Pacific Northwest, but I suspect my feet will get cold (and I did not order a large enough size for thick socks). I did some additional waterproofing to hope they at least keep the wet out.
Comfortable shoes!
They arrived as promised and they fit perfectly. Comfortable right out of the box. True to size. No break in period needed!
great casual shoe
I bought these as an alternative to sneakers or sandals for casual wear. I love them! They are very comfortable, well made & a really nice color. I may buy another pair to keep as a spare
