Rated 2 out of 5 by from The fork is the weak link here.. I was interested in trying this cutlery set because of its design. It is light in weight (1.0oz on my scale) and it is compact enough to fit inside my cook pot. (900ml Evernew). Which is something my current cutlery set won't do. The short comings of this set are such however that I will be returning it and will continue to use my Sea to Summit aluminum cutlery set for now. The breakdown.. Spoon: It's good for general pasta/rice meals. But not deep enough to make a good soup spoon. Fork: The plastic tines are thicker than their metal counterparts as they need to be to keep them from breaking during use. But the points of the tines are rounded off and dull. The fork is good for use with rice and pasta dishes to scoop. But not for anything solid you need to poke. (i.e. meats, fruits, vegetables, etc.) I was afraid of pushing too hard because the fork would bend and I didn't want to break the handle and/or the tines of the fork. Knife: The ''blade'' on this knife will take care of just about all the typical food you'd normally find on the trail. Cuts salami and jerky with ease. The handle isn't long enough to reach the bottom of a standard peanut butter jar. I purchased my set in the color orange. And after cooking several meals with the set, it never showed any signs of discoloring or staining. But none of the meals I cooked had tomato sauce as a recipe ingredient however. So I can't say or not if they would eventually stain or discolor as happens with using tomato sauce with other plastic utensils and storage containers. Hope this helps..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to eat with These were ideal to eat with. Friends I was with when camping recently had the all in one or combo versions, and those did not cut the steak we had as well as this set. It combines to a small item, and fits conveniently in my bowl/plate combo.
