Nice, but too tight between the shoulders

This jacket is nice and lightweight, but too confining between the shoulders, especially when wearing anything bulky underneath. The hips are a little tight, but I could deal with that. I need to look at men's jackets instead, since options are pretty limited in women's larger sizes.

Perfect coat for spring!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this coat to have a lightweight jacket as a transition piece from Winter to Spring. So happy with this purchase! Coat fits true to size (I am a size 33'' jeans and normally wear XL tops) and the 1x fits absolutely perfectly -- no pulling anywhere and lays perfectly to give that longer jacket effect. Also, the coat zips up from the bottom if you like that option. I have worn this coat in the rain and the material is completely waterproof, yet lightweight and breathable, and the hood comes well over your forehead to protect your hair and to avoid rain from getting on your face. Love the large zipper pockets as well. Definitely worth the money!!

Yay for plus sized outdoor gear!

This rain coat kept me active all last Winter and Spring in the rainy PNW. Previously it has been difficult to find quality gear in larger sizes, but I splurged on this jacket and it has been my favorite purchase of the year. Actually, I was able to stay so active that I was able to lose enough weight that I shrunk out of it!

Mom Rain coat

This is just your typical Mom raincoat with those great Columbia bells and whistles. It is a big through the body, but a little tight around the arms, typical problem for me. It bells out a little on the bottom- especially in front (yuck) which was almost enough for me to send it back. I have had a ton of trouble finding a raincoat this season and this was the best that I have found. I got the black and blue print, which is pretty without being IN YOUR FACE bold. the sleeves are plenty long and have adjustable straps. It's not to heavy, perfect for spring/fall, and the hood is adjustable and big enough for a pony tail or bun. the two way zipper sticks a bit. but it's a nice feature.

Comfortable and roomy

I wear my new jacket when riding my e-bike to and from work. It does a good job of blocking the wind and keeping me warm and dray as I peddle along the bike paths and lanes. It is comfortable and roomy enough over layers and long enough to go below my derriere.

Pretty "Chubby Woman's" rain jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Columbia Woman's "Splash a Little" rain jacket is PERFECT !!! There are not a lot of options for Plus Size Women out there but Columbia made this a "no brainier". It has a two way zipper plus snaps for closure with Velcro adjustable cuffs & a gererous attached hood. I ordered the 1X...I normally wear an XL or 1X weighing in at 190 with hips of 47" I chose the red which is more like paprika but is soooooo attractive. It came in VERY handy on the golf course already keeping my upper body dry because we were hit with a torrential ran for at least a half an hour.

Love it!

This is exactly what I was looking for. A nice, waterproof shell with a good hood. No warmth in this, it's a thin, waterproof layer, but it fits nicely and I can definitely wear a sweatshirt underneath. I usually wear a size 18 and I got the 2x. The hood is nice and big, and has an adjustable Velcro in the back so that it doesn't fall into your face. It looks like it will keep my glasses dry while I walk my dog, very important to me! I ordered the Ruby Red and it is lovely! Very bright and has a more pink color than red. I like that it has a full row of snaps, so that it does not need to be zipped up. The pockets have zippers which is nice, and there is a little breast pocket on the left side. This jacket is perfect!

It works, but it's nothing special

I did end up keeping this jacket because honestly I just needed a waterproof jacket that looked a little more like a coat, so I could wear over a suit or dress for work, for instance. I am a little disappointed with this jacket. It looks fine, but it's not really that stylish. While I appreciate that it's lightweight, it feels and looks kind of flimsy -- not nearly as nice as I wanted it to when I'm spending $100+ on something. The zipper is a nightmare -- the two bottom zipper pulls are nearly impossible to line up and zip with ease. Luckily, there are snaps as well, or I'd have had to send this one back. Again, I was a little bit desperate to get a rain jacket quickly (Seattle) so this will do. I just wish it was nicer than it is.

Bad fit

The Splash A Little Rain Jacket has extremely long and narrow sleeves. The jacket was too tight in the upper arms, upper back and shoulders yet the body of the jacket was way too large. It poufs out in front and really has no shape. It makes me look like I weigh even more than I do. I ordered a size up so I could layer underneath and the back, arms, and shoulders are so tight I could only wear a short sleeved T-shirt under it. Ridiculous lack of style. It is not proportioned properly to fit. Extremely disappointed and sent it back.

A coat I love to wear.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the fit. I wear a 2X and the 2X it fits perfect. Best part is the hood is adjustable in the back so I can actually see when I'm wearing it. To me that's the best feature. Most hoods are too big. I live in the PNW and was tired of getting wet. This coat is nice looking and very functional. Nocturnal dot print is beautiful. Tempted to buy another one because it's so hard to find a nice looking rain coat. It is light weight but so far in November I haven't had to wear a sweater under it. It has snaps in addition to the zipper.
