I purchased this jacket mainly because I did not want to wear my black raincoat with my wedding dress in Scotland. I really like this jacket, especially the fleece lining. The jacket even has fleece in the pockets (awesome!) and hood. The jacket kept me warm and dry. I also really like the ability to cinch the waist. The problem I encountered with the jacket is the hood!! First, there is no way to cinch/tie it. This became very problematic while on a hike in Scotland with strong wind and rain. I had to hold the hood with my hand to keep my head covered. My hand would have preferred to be in the fleecy pocket staying warm and dry! Secondly, it seems there is not enough material in the hood because it kept pulling my jacket up when I was holding the hood to cover my head. All in all, I like the jacket and wore it often on my trip. The hood design can definitely be improved though. I’m going to see if my tailor can do something about cinching the hood so I can keep my head covered and hands free during future outings.
Lining does not lay flat around the hem at the back tail of jacket Lining is loose and twist when you put you arms in , uncomfortable feeling
Love the color and very comfortable /warm. It unfortunately was too short in overall length. I’m 5’9 1/2 and 146 lbs. I normally wear a small or Medium. I ordered a Medium which fit well minus the torso & arm length. It would be too heavy/bulky for backpacking for my liking but great for chilly/rainy hiking. Stylish enough for casual everyday use. Some reviews complained about the hood which likely would be problematic in wind as it does not have a way to cinch the hood. My solution if it had fit was going to be sewing a magnetic button closure under the chin as there is plenty of fabric. I really wanted the coat to fit. Wish it came in tall.
This jacket is perfection in every way. Light, warm enough and waterproof with a hood! Absolutely perfect.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket 2 months ago and am leaving another review now that I’ve had the chance to use it. It’s very cute and I love the pockets and cinched waist, however the hood doesn’t stay up. The hood falls back as you walk, and if there’s even a slight breeze forget about it staying up. Due to this reason, you can’t wear it in the rain because your face and head will get soaked. The whole reason I bought this jacket was to wear while hiking on a September trip to Seattle which will inevitably be rainy, and now I can’t use it for its intended purpose. Waste of money
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very comfortable material on the inside. I have a larger bust and am typically a medium/large & the large doesn’t look too big, it fits perfect.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I originally bought a black XXL because I'm typically an XL and I wanted room for a sweatshirt underneath. It was waaay too big. I returned it at the store and after trying them on I got a Large in Stone. It is still comfortable with a sweatshirt underneath and the slightly fitted look creates a better silhouette. The stone is really pretty and a nice departure from typical black. It kept me warm in 37 degree weather yesterday. I spilled salsa on it and it came right off without staining since it is rain-proof material—hoping that will keep the stone color clean.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this rain coat - it's longer than most jackets, has a soft fabric lining, and doesn't leak in a strong storm! It's light enough to be easily seen at night when I'm walking the dog and easy to clean! It has 4 large pockets to hold everything from phones to doggie bags, gloves and more. The perfect fall/spring coat for me!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I originally bought this jacket for inclement weather, and I probably should have read the details more closely because the lining was such a pleasant surprise! The quality is great, it fits true to size, and I wanted something versatile enough for working in construction while still looking nice for everyday wear. This jacket delivers. Today was my first chance to wear it, and with cold temperatures and extremely strong winds, I’ve felt comfortable and protected. I absolutely love it—one of the best purchases I’ve made in a while. Better than terrific!
Usually wear small and sized up as recommended in reviews. Medium was snug. Was hoping to layer underneath and will not be able to. The most disappointing thing about this jacket is that it is absolutely not waterproof. I wore it out in the rain to run in and out of the grocery store and my hair (with the hood on) and sweatshirt were wet when I took it off. I live in Vegas and we don’t get a lot of rain and this jacket couldn’t even handle that! was expecting a great jacket for the price I paid. Disappointed with Columbia. Save your money.
