YES! A good night's sleep!

Bought this after a camping trip using the old school, non inflatable pads. I said to myself: never again! This pad is super easy to fill with air, I usually let it fill itself and then give it an extra puff of air. I sleep so well on this, in any position. It feels like I'm sleeping 20 inches off the ground. I am a girl with broad shoulders and usually my problem is that I can't sleep on my side cause my arm will fall asleep. But with this pad I can sleep how ever I want. Also light weight, and easy to fold up. It is however quite a bit bigger in volume than the NeoAir. If I had a few extra bucks to spend on a pad, I would maybe go for the NeoAir.

Great for side sleepers

I've had my trail rest pro (regular) for 3 1/2 years using it about once a month and it's holding up very well. Mine weighs about 2 lbs (I see the 2015 model is supposedly 2 oz. lighter). I've tried lighter and thinner pads, but I would toss and turn all night on them because my shoulders and hips would hurt (I'm a side sleeper). I decided carrying the extra 3/4 of a pound or so in my pack was worth the better night's sleep in the end. This seems to be the lightest 2" self-inflating pad on the market, and has a great r-value for winter. Not cheap, takes up a lot of room in my pack, but I feel it's probably the best equipment investment I ever made. I wish I got it sooner!

Perfect

My search for a comfy sleeping pad is (finally) over. Over a 2-3 month span I tried out Big Agnes, Alps and Klymit sleeping pads trying to find what worked best for me. Fully inflatable pads (Big Agnes, Klymit) just felt like pool mattresses to me and my hips and shoulders would go numb. The Alps self-inflating pad was better, but a hair to thin. The extra thickness of the Thermarest Trail Pro was exactly what I needed--a full 2 inches feels like I'm laying on a comfy couch cushion. Yes, there's a weight penalty. Thermarest's advertised weight is spot on according to my postal scale--1 lb 13 oz. So I'm giving up 1/2+ to some of the more lightweight backpacking options. But in my book the comfort is beyond worth it. I can sleep at night instead on turning over every 60 minutes.

best pad for so many reasons

This pad works incredibly well and I researched a LOT of pads before purchasing. My son has the same one and it has held up to lots of use and varied conditions - extreme cold, wet weather, hot and humid weather. Cleans up easily. Can take a couple minutes to fold up and get into stuff sack, yet worth the extra seconds for comfort and durability. Not noisy, which other pads can be. Super comfortable and durable. Consistent inflation. Easy to inflate to preferred comfort.

Great all round...

No complaints... For a first pad. Keeps you off the ground and warmer if its colder out. The large size keeps me on the mat in plenty of positions. I'm 5' 8". After two years the mat still works great. This has worked for anything I've done, never taken it backpacking but if you like comfort this is plenty. One tip... be sure to set it out to inflate before you need it.

Great nights sleep.

Bought two of these for a camping trip to Iceland in August. Night temperatures got down low but on these Therm-a-Rest pads we were warm and comfortable. We would let them self inflate and then add 4 or 5 puffs to get the right level of comfort. Slept soundly all night long! They are not noisy when you roll over, two together leaves no noticeable gap even though they are tapered at the lower end and they packed away with ease to a manageable size. After the trip we stayed with family and were tempted to put these pads on their less comfortable mattress!

All-night sleeping comfort

I've had my Trail Pro for over 5 years now, and have easily used it at least 200 nights in that time. Car camping in all 4 seasons, frequently sleeping in the backyard either under the stars or in a tent because I love sleeping outdoors so much, crashing on the floor at a friend's place, or just testing out new gear in weather conditions and temperatures that push the envelope, I've never woken up cold or sore. The Trail Pro fits inside my GI Gore-Tex bivy sack, which allows me to further protect it from punctures and makes striking camp easy on those really cold mornings - just open the valve and roll the whole thing up from the foot, pad, bag(s), and all. It's been patched in 7 or 8 places from when one of the cats found her way into the closet where I keep it unrolled, and still holds enough air for comfort all night long (there is a very small leak somewhere, which I haven't looked for yet.) The top is textured to keep sleeping bags from sliding off from normal movement; I toss and turn a lot and have occasionally awoken with the foot of the bag partially off the pad but it's easy to kick yourself back onto the pad. The valve is easy to reach while lying on the pad, so if necessary you can release air a little at a time until it's at the proper firmness. Some manufacturers use brass valves, but I've never had any problems with the plastic valve. Someday I may replace this pad, and in all likelihood it'll be with another Trail Pro. Warm, comfortable, and light enough to carry if I ever do get into backpacking for more than a couple days, I can't say enough good things about the Trail Pro.
