Sizing notes

Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. CHOOSING THE RIGHT SIZE: If your body measurements are midway between two sizes, select the smaller size for a tighter fit or the larger size for a looser fit. If your body measurements result in different sizes, we recommend using your chest measurement for tops and your hip measurement for pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feel warm all day I work outside everyday I spent the winter in PA working in subzero temperatures. The oasis leggings were my first piece of 100% wool base layer. I normally wear under armor base layer. In the wind the synthetic gets cool and doesn't warm up until you get back in the truck or warm up, this makes you feel like you have a cold outer layer on you. The Oasis wool leggings don't ever feel cool they are always warm. The Underarmor that I have been wearing also start to feel like they are crawling around by the middle of the day. The oasis don't do this. I have been pleased with the fit. I will buy several more pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dense knit, warm, stretchy long underwear I have had issues with merino long underwear in the past. Lower quality items tend to develop holes when you pull them on or are not stretchy. Interestingly, some of the worst offenders have been Red Ram, a subsidiary of Icebreaker. And Smartwool stuff just does not last. Icebreaker stuff tends to have very variable sizing, but generally these are right on. I am a 32-32 and the mediums fit perfectly. Dense knit and very stretchy. Already my favorite long underwear by a long shot. If these are anything like all of my other icebreaker stuff, they will last for years more than paying for the initial cost premium.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exercise tights Like the fact that these do not have a fly for local crossfit. I wear them without trunks over them. They are form fitting but do not keep me from moving freely in all my exercises. The fabric is easy on the skin and warm enough but not too warm for exercising. I am not sure I will wear them in summer but they are great now. They do not seem to smell after exercise. Laundering does not seem to be a problem. It is a slim fit, so I would wear a small regular but with these a medium fits just right. I am about 5"9" and 150 lbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great first layer I recently picked these up to replace my first wool base layer that finally began to fall apart after a few years of good use, a pair that on several occasions kept me from having to leave the trail due to cold/wet weather. They are, and always will be, a necessity in my pack for hiking trips. I'm indifferent to the camo pattern (they're long-johns, not exactly formal attire), but could see the benefit for some. Under shorts for those brisk early mornings in spring or fall or under pants in the winter when you're shoveling the driveway at 6 in the morning and penguins are frozen to your stoop, these leggings are a godsend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm These long underwear are warm and soft, I typically don't like "wool" next to my skin. That has now changed. Thanks Icebreaker

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Moderate and High Activity Pursuits Weight & Warmth This garment is fairly thin, but provides some surprising warmth for the weight. This weight best suits at least moderate level intensity activities in cold weather, or low intensity activity in cool weather. I have used them for deer, duck, & pheasant hunting; and they work great. Even for traditionally more stationary type hunting activities, such as deer and duck, my hunting sites tend to require some intensive hike-ins, followed by long periods of stationary activity. That is usually a recipe for wet base layers, and a cold day; but I love the fact that these shed moisture so quickly, and never have a bulky or hot feel compared to many polyester tight fitting base layers. These would probably be well suited for other activities such as hiking and skiing. I would recommend a heavier weight for low intensity activities in weather you personally consider cold. Features & Comfort This merino is super-soft, and very comfortable to wear. The inherent properties of merino are worth the price for the way it handles wicking sweat from your body, evaporating it quickly, but yet does not absorb external moisture (like cotton). All merino is certainly not created equally, and this seems to be high quality wool. If you ever do get wet in a cold environment, wool instantly is worth the investment because it is the only material this still provides some warmth even when soaking wet. (I can attest to that after wading a mile through frozen back water to a duck hole only to have my waders start to leak. The fact I didn't develop any frost bite is a testament to the value of merino wool socks and leggings.# The other great inherent property of wool is it's natural odor resistance. This is obviously a big plus for many activities, but it is a real bonus for hunting game with a great sense of smell. Garment Care Compared to other similar wool garments, these leggings are reasonable with regard to care and laundering. Obviously, merino requires more effort than cotton or most poly garments; but overall it is reasonable. The inherent ant-bacterial odor resistant properties of merino also mean that you will not need to wash this garment as often as similar polyester garments. Fit I rated the fit as "true to size". To be more specific, I would say these are true to size for most, but if you are on the borderline between sizes, your best bet is likely to go with the larger choice. I am 5'10" & 190 lbs, and wear a US 34x30 in most jeans. I am often in between a medium and large, or I am large waist size, but the legs are too long. I definitely need a large in these leggings, as even the large is slightly snug for my waist size. Individuals taller than 6'2" will probably have to go with a looser fit garment to get the leg length they need. Value I would rate the value as extremely high, with the caveat that I purchased this particular garment on a seasonal clearance due to a discontinued color. At regular MSRP my value rating would drop somewhat, but Icebreaker makes a quality product that I have no hesitation in recommending overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from totally exceeded expectations loved these base layers. warm, fit great, just really nice. wore them this last week for a week long elk hunting trip and couldn't be happier. walked a lot of mountain, sweat a lot, kept me warm whether walking or sitting, dried by morning, worked great all week. couldn't say enough about them. it rained and snowed three times in the week while I was hunting too. the really nice thing about the pants too is how they fit, didn't have to
