Good bag, nice features

I bought this bag because I was looking for something that offered enough protection to feel secure checking my gear at the airport. The molded plastic frame at either end kept my board well-protected. The capacity is great--it held my board with bindings attached, boots, and helmet. There was room for more gear but I wanted to be careful about weight. The wheels made it really easy to pull rather than carry the board. I never used the shoulder strap. I understand the frustration of the previous reviewer but I don't think the bag should be rated a 1 because the strap attachment broke. The bag itself is awesome, Burton's parts replacement policy clearly needs work. The only improvement I'd like to see is that the protective plastic extend the length of the bag on the underside instead of just capping each end. Each end has good protective plastic molding, but the middle of the bag isn't supported--the board itself provides the support, and I'd rather that weren't the case. One thing to note: the 166cm bag is actually a few inches over the length limit for the airlines, but I curb-checked it and no one measured it. (I'd really wanted the 156cm bag, which is within bag-check specs, but when you wait 'til the last minute you get what you get.)

Faulty Shoulder Strap

I bought the Burton Wheelie Locker right before a big trip to Park City Utah and received it 3 days before my trip, which is this saturday 12/22/12. I packed my board, snowboard boots and some clothing not fully packed at all 43 lbs. I weighed it to make sure I wouldn't pay to much in baggage fee's, Put the bag on my shoulder's via shoulder strap and pop it went. The shoulder strap's piece of plastic that holds the strap to bag broke. I called Burton to replace strap and they said i would have to mail in the whole bag with the strap! To exchange for a whole other unit,Thats silly. Now the Customer service rep (lacie) is avoiding my calls because I lost my rag with them. I would not recommend this bag, Burton Bummer....

Great Bag

Worked great for a ski trip on an airplane. We fit a snowboard and set of skis and two pairs of boots and it all stayed secure with no damage. The wheels are great ( I had one without before)! Wheels and padding are a must when flying with ski gear.

Great bag but heavy

I've had this bag for a year now. I love how much it carries. I can fit my board, boots, and gear as well as my wife's board, boots, and gear. It's full, but it definitely fits. The bag is also made of tough material and has beefy lockable zippers. I believe this bag can take a lot of abuse. I flew it to Colorado and it still looks brand new. The downside is it is really heavy when you put much in it. This doesn't matter to me when I'm driving somewhere, but flying is another issue. If you fill it to it's capacity then you will be over the 50lb flight limit. I also dislike that the board becomes the bag's "spine". When it's empty the bag will fold in half and smash down in size. The bad news is that the board might take the abuse when it's being mishandled by airport baggage crews. Overall I'm very happy with the bag and I think it does a good job of protecting our stuff. I would recommend it to someone that wants to carry a lot of stuff. I bought it online, but I wish I could have compared it in a store to the wheelie gig bag to decide if the weight savings was worth it.
