I recommend these. As a competitive cyclist, I have relied on energy gels as my primary fuel during races for the past 20 years, paired with water and energy drinks. I used to not like Honey as a "gel fuel" until Honey Stinger re-formulated their product with this newer generation of gels. Now, I feel that this is just as good as (or better than) any other brand on the market. For me personally, pure honey tends to burn too quickly and these improved gels tend to last longer with less of an immediate spike/drop off. They are not too thick, nor too runny. You also won't get an irritated throat like pure honey causes sometimes.

Weird tasting

I'm doing some longer runs at the moment and always looking for a new flavor/type of energy gel (Hammer or GU being my normal). I have the Honey Stinger ones a try as they were on special offer. There is no other way to say it - they just taste weird. I can't place my finger on it; if it's the honey then it's a weird kind of honey that I've never tried before (I mean who DOESN'T like honey??). It's just an unpleasant aftertaste. To add to that, the consistency is a bit on the weak side, it's barely a gel. I can honestly say I wouldn't take one of these if they were given to me for free.

Good for Sensiive Stomachs

I'm a faitful Honey Stinger user and have been for years. I have a very sensitive stomach, especially while working out, and pretty much every other gel I've tried just comes back up. The honey works well, but I wanted some variety and these new gels work really well for me. They are made from tapioca syrup instead of honey, but they are just as gentle on my stomach. They're super tasty, and I'm a big fan of the fruit smothie. The consistency is good, not to thick but not honey-like, either. I only with they had more flavors so I could mix it up!

In Love!!

I bought one of these, and one GU banana/strawberry packet. Yesterday I tried the GU, and for at least an hour I tried to NOT see it again, and my stomach made sad, very unhappy noises. But this morning I tried the Honey Stinger gel for my 5am run, and how amazing!!! No funny noises, didn't feel McHurley at all! It made my morning run feel like an afternoon run. It was nice to not have breakfast sloshing around but also not be running on a totally empty stomach, and I think you should take it about 10-25 minutes before. Awesome. Simply awesome.

Excelent energy

Bought this at REI garage sale. Been looking for the "perfect" trail food for all my adventures. After using the Honey Stingers for a while they have proven to be exactly what I needed. Its got honey and B vitamins which seem to me to give a slow burn of enrgy . pack small and has a easy stowable material when used up. Ive tried jerky, energy bars, fruit you name it nothing did as good as these energy gels.

Effective for long rides

The Honey Stinger has a very sweet flavor and more liquid consistency than other gels on the market. I appreciate the lower cost considering that the ingredients are natural and organic. Some of the flavors have caffeine, which is nice, however the Mango Honey Stinger is free of caffeine and provided just the right amount of carbohydrate for me to finish my ride.

The best gel I've tried!

I've tried 3 energy gel brands so far and Honey Stinger is the definite winner for me. I already was a big fan of their energy gummies and the flavors offered. These gels are similar to others on the market but the flavors are so much better. I ordered several for my longer runs and they give me a burst of energy and taste great too.

Honey Stinger Chocolate, ummm no.

I got this to try as I'd heard good things about them. But have to say I was disappointed by the chocolate flavor. Honestly the chocolate flavor they're using doesn't really mesh with the honey flavor and I found it a bit acerbic and not at all sweetish. Honestly, I just didn't like the flavor.
