Absorbant? Yes, I had a shower with it. Got it saturated, squeezed out the water, then wiped my wet arm down and my skin was 90% dry. Has great absorbing power even after being saturated. My only gripe with this is that 2 shower-ringing and 2 sink-soaking sessions later, there is still a lot of green dye coming out. Way too much dye or something...Not sure how many washes it's going to take until I can actually throw it in the wash with normal clothes.

Bought for daughter for camp in BWCA. Dries quickly- big plus. But EVERYTHING sticks to it- dirt, needles, grass. Downer for something you want to be clean to dry your body off. Even when washed & dried, still is still imbedded in the material.

Super Absorbant

I have been searching for a good travel towel for the past six months. It seemed like every towel had its down side (too big, too small, falls apart quickly, smells weird) Though I was hesitant at first I decided to take my chances and purchase it. The REI Multi-towel is surprisingly soft and absorbant. It takes about 20 seconds to dry my entire body and doesn't drag or stick to my body like other non-cotton towels. I chose the XL because I wanted something large enough to wrap my body with. I also purchased a L to wrap my hair in. This product is great and will be used on my upcoming Euro-trip.

Gets the job done !

I'm very happy I bought this before our boating trip. Compared to the usual towels I brought in the past, this one held it's weight . PROS: DRIES SKIN QUICKLY. -Dried under 20 mins under direct sun at 97 degrees -The loop & bag. I had no bathroom, so I used trees to hang it up between uses. -Packs nicely into small bags (24, 46, & 50 liter bags) and is VERY light weight. -I dried my tent, my hammock, my tarps and chair with it. -Wrings heavy water pretty easily. CONS -it feels odd when you have dry hands . The material feels a bit scratchy. But other than that it's a great towel.

Highly absorbent, worthwhile use of limited space

Took this as my only towel on a multi-day cycling tour during which we stayed at hostels and other places where you needed your own towel. It dries you quickly and dries out quickly as well (hanging overnight on a bed rail did the trick for us). Don't expect it to have the same skin feel as a regular towel, but it will do the job well.

Get dry on the trail

I have had REI pack towels in the past and they have been pretty amazing. This type is nice because there is a little more fluff to them. they dry quickly and pack nice and small. It is easy to fit in a pack and hike 20 miles with it.

Bleeding Dye

Very absorbent and dries quickly. After 5 very thorough washes, it is still bleeding massive amounts of green dye. It must always be washed separately to avoid dying all of your other clothes green.

Just about perfect

I liked this. It does feel like it's not one piece of cloth but two sewn together, back-to-back. When you dry yourself, the side on your body kind of sticks to dry you while the other side moves as you rub the towel.

Great for the Gym/After Workouts

I really like the feel of these newer style (newer to me anyway) microfiber towels. They are much softer and more absorbent than previous ones I have owned. They feel more like terri-cloth towels at home. The X-Large size is perfect for me for drying off after a shower at the gym. Big enough to get me completely dry and go all the way around my waist but fairly light and compact enough not to take up a lot of space in the gym bag.

Great travel and camp towel

Bought this towel for traveling overseas with my backpack. Needed a lightweight towel. Its been one of the best things i've purchased for my trip and for future use in backpacking. I recommend this to anyone looking for a lightweight, compact, absorbent towel that doesn't compromise in size either.
