Sizing notes

Rock Shoes: Scarpa recommends you downsize 1/2 to 2 full sizes from street shoe size, though downsizing depends on shoe model, intended use and personal preference.

Mountaineering: Scarpa recommends you upsize 1/2 size or more depending on desired fit. Scarpa plastic mountaineering boots are based on the UK sizing scale.

Ski Boots: All Scarpa ski bootsare measured in Mondo sizing. Some skiers may want to downsize up to 1 full Mondo size, depending upon personal preference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent touring/telemarking crossover I bought this boot for backcountry touring in fairly rugged terrain, in conjunction with the Rossignol BC110 skis and the Rottefella Chili Telemark binding. So far the boots have been very comfortable, and have kept my feet warm in temperatures down to the teens. Ski touring where I live often consists of lots of uphill and downhill travel, and very little level ground. These boots flex extremely well when traveling uphill or on level ground, yet offer good support for making turns on the way downhill. They are definitely too heavy for groomed Nordic trails, and too heavy for someone skiing on level or gently rolling terrain. But for someone who wants to tour in rugged, mountainous terrain, they are an excellent choice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from size issue The REI size chart is quite different from the Scarpa chart. REI says US 11 is a 28 mondo, and Scarpa says it's a 29. Since I ordered a 28 and it's way too small I think Scarpa (who made the boot) is correct.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't quite do it A very good idea to create a lighter yet sturdier back country/touring boot which helps with turning. But the fit for me wasn't good enough; too much heel lift. For me, an instep strap, similar to the old T1 and T2, would help reduce excessive heel lift.

Questions & Answers

Please explain how the sizing works.  I am a 10 in US sizes (men).

Asked by: dreynolds
These Scarpa boots are listed in Mondo sizing. Mondo sizing is about equal to the length in centimeters. Looking at the sizing chart, a US men's 10 is a Mondo 28. As of March 2017, we are out of stock of size 28 and do not know when it will become available again.

I'm interested in this boot in size 28.5. I notice you are out of stock. Is this a seasonal issue, or a longer term issue? In other words, can I expect to see the boot become available in that size by the Winter of 2018?

Asked by: RossB
As of June 2017, we do not plan to stock size 28.5. All available sizes are on our website. We sell the T4's in whole sizes only. A 28.5 foot would go up to a 29. Here is the link for the newer version:

Is this boot appropriate for women as well?

Asked by: Anne55
This boot is designed for men so it is slightly wider than a women's boot, but it can be used for women.
