That warm, fuzzy feeling
This is my new favorite flannel anything. It's cozy, warm, and so soft that it feels like it's cuddling me. As another reviewer noted, it's high-quality and does feel well-worth the price. The cuffs and collar feel sturdy but not uncomfortably stiff. I'm 5'5.5, 115-120 lbs (so normally xs-s) and I ordered the 4. I'd tried the 2, but it felt a smidgen too tight around the bust (which was surprising--I rarely have that problem). Even though it's a little loose, my figure isn't lost thanks to the tailored cut. There's still room enough for me to comfortably layer a long-sleeved thermal underneath without it feeling too tight.
I'm in LOVE
I had my eye on this ever since I saw it advertised in the REI ad a few months ago, but just couldn't bring myself to pay so much for a flannel. Went into the store the other day and to my utter surprise they were 50% off, and out of the 2 left in the black/tan color one was my size- lucky day! Softest flannel I have ever owned/seen, and made nice and thick unlike most flannels these days. I am 5'5, 137# with a 36C bust. The 6 was too tight across my bust, 8 fits perfect with a little room for layering, but still flattering fit. Super happy Patagonia offered the Black/Chrystaline color, it is BEAUTIFUL, and great when companies have women's clothing in colors that aren't super girly.
Great Versatile Shirt
My husband got me this shirt for Christmas and is SO surprised at how much I wear it. It is super soft, comfortable, and warm, but also surprisingly cute. I'm not a button down shirt kind of girl but have worn this to work with a skirt, as an outer layer at a chilly restaurant, around the house at night, cross country skiing, and as an outer layer on a chillier than expected mountain bike ride. I pretty much never want to take it off and am already looking for another color. I was worried about washing it and it came out just as soft and the same size. I am 5'6" and 135 lb. and had to return the size 8 for a size 4 so it wasn't so bulky looking. I usually wear a size small top.
Great flannel!
Love this flannel. Had to buy much bigger size than I normally am, so there is some wiggle room. I think it's due to the cut (shaped more for women). I am 5'11", 147 lbs and I got the 14! First bought 8, too tight across chest (36 DD) so got a 10 in the mail. Better but still not much extra room at all. Finally went into rei and wanted the 12 which would have been perfect, but only had the 14. Nice long arms, some extra room for layers, maybe a little too much room, but I'm happy with it. Depends on how you want it to hug you. I like extra wiggle room.
The only flannel you'll ever need!
This flannel shirt is VERY comfy. It's really cute and is quality made. This shirt will probably last me the rest of my life. Great for layering on a day hike, doing yard work, or just doing chores around the house. Runs a little large, I usually wear an 8 but the 6 was more form fitting with room for a layer underneath still. I recommend going one size smaller. Buy it, you won't regret!
Very skimpy this year
I buy one of these shirts every year. I love them - they are so soft and warm and last a long time. I am 5'7", 140 lbs and always order size 10 so I can layer a turtleneck or t-shirt underneath. This year I'm so disappointed. The shirt I received is very skimpy. It is at least 1" narrower in the shoulders and almost 2" shorter than the one I bought last year. It feels snug and I'd be afraid to wash it. Sadly I'll have to return it.
I can't wait for colder weather
This shirt is on the thicker side of flannels, is very soft. I am 5'3" and 118 lbs and fit the size 2 with enough room for a thin base layer underneath. I like the length and the straight hem, which looks better when the shirt is worn open, like a cardigan. It's nice to be able to wear a flannel shirt without looking boxy.
Super comfy
This shirt is a bit camp-y but very warm comfortable for winter. Props to Patagonia: even their boyish stuff manages to look reasonably feminine and flattering. I'd wear this for a fall or winter hike, out in the field (I'm an ecologist) or around a campfire. I'm tall and thin (5'10'' 135 lbs) and bought an 8 because they didn't have a 6, but the 6 would have been better.
The best top I've ever owned
This flannel is the softest, most comfortable shirt I've owned. It keeps me incredibly warm and the versatile colors/patterns allow me to pair it with just about anything. I wear it both in my office and while out on hiking excursions. The sleeves are loose-fitting enough that I can comfortably wear it while climbing, too! Follow the washing instructions and you'll be fine. I literally never want to take this thing off, and I will definitely be buying more! I'm 5'9", 120lbs, and a size 4 fits perfectly.
Quality, softness, and style
Here's the scoop, if you want to buy five flannels that are thin, shrink, don't hold their shape, etc...don't buy this one. If you want one go-to flannel that you'll wear forever, then this is the shirt for you. It's thick without being stiff, super soft, and, somehow for a flannel, it's feminine. Perk: the bottom hem is straight across so it looks more jacket-like than shirt-like. For sizing, I'm 5'7", 120 lbs and the 4 fit but I went with the 6 for a little more room for layering and shrinkage.
