Very comfortable, great arch support
Was in REI looking for something else, saw these sandals in a beautiful turquoise, tried them on, and was surprised how comfortable they are. I have flat feet and these have excellent arch support. Not just a lump under the arch, but a full slope similar to a high-end orthotic. There is a piece of sturdy ribbon-like fabric that goes between toes, and is surprisingly comfortable. The foot bed surface is soft to the touch, and not slippery with wet feet. The soles grip on wet cement around the pool. The colors are true to what is shown on the REI site. The sole is thin enough that I won't twist injure ankles with wet slippery feet.
Were seemingly great, but wore out very unevenly
A few years old, but only worn around the house, never been wet/in water. Surprised to see the wear on the inner part of the outside strap, part against my foot. Sole has so much life left, no signs of wear. Not a very sustainable shoe if it is going to die so young, can't repair this. Too expensive for such a design/material flaw.
Good feet but they are falling apart
Love the color and style. But had less than a month and they are falling apart. One shoe feels like it has less cushion no matter how I stand.
Soothing Arch Support!
I have always had problems with my feet. I have somewhat flat feet and I practically live in sandals because my feet never fit right in shoes. My recent visit to REI brought me to these. I like that they look like regular flip-flops, but they're actually VERY supportive. I did have to go up a size, which seems to be pretty consistent with most of the shoes at REI for me. Anyway, I can walk around for hours per day in these and have very little foot discomfort (before, if I spent more than an hour on my feet I'd be in pain). I wish they'd offer them in a little bit prettier finishes too. Like maybe black glitter straps or a nice leather brown. Overall, great product!
Comfortable, stylish versatile & durable Flip Flop
I bought a different model of OluKai sandals based on the recommendation of a friend, and loved them so much that I also bought the Ohana. I have a high arch, and regular, more "cushy" sole flip-flops don't provide enough support for comfortable walking. The Olukai brand has great arch support and are very comfortable as well as good-looking. I could wear them all day. I bought the Ohana water resistant ones so I could wear them to the beach and around the water as well as around town. I suspect these will be my go-to sandals for the upcoming summer!! Although they are kind of expensive, I feel the price is worth it for the comfort, style & durability. My boyfriend has had his pair for 3 years, wears them all the time, and they still look like new.
Oh so comfy, presentable too!
When I set out to find a new pair of flip flops for this summer, these were not my first choice. I started out with several flavors of Chaco flip flops (because I adore my Yampa sandals) but none of them fit particularly well. I really wanted to love them, but the arch support was all wrong and the footbed too narrow for my feet. When I returned my online mishaps I tried these sandals on and fell in love. The footbed is soft, supportive, comfortable, and nicely textured so the shoe stays put. I got the plain black and the uppers look nice enough to wear with slacks or a summer dress. Can't speak to the longevity of the shoe yet, but so far they're wearing well. I'm glad the Chacos didn't work out, now I have another go-to brand!
fell apart in one month of light use
I was excited to get these old-school style flip-flops and to support this company. However, in less than one month of light use the foot-bed was separating from the sole; like the glue had given up. There was also a foul smell such that I could not wear them inside or in my car.
Tops cracking/flaking off after less than a year
I read a lot of reviews of a lot of different brands of flip-flops before deciding on these. Part of what sold me on them is that many reviewers mentioned them lasting for years. I’ve had them just under a year, with casual use— not overly heavy use, and the tops are suddenly starting to crack and the color is flaking off. Other than that, they have been comfortable, and both the insoles and the tread on the bottom are holding up well,. But for $75 dollars, I am really sad that the tops are falling apart so soon! I would like to return them, but am out of the country and won’t be able to get them mailed in before the year deadline without spending half the cost of the flip-flops on shipping.
Best Flip Flop Ever
I love, love, love these flip flops! I live in flip flops when the weather permits, so I have purchased many pairs. I wear mine all the time, including to go on daily 2 mile walks with my dog--this is the true test of a comfortable flip flop. The footbed is unbelievably comfortable. The material feels like silk on the bottoms of my feet, and the arch support is unprecedented in a flip flop. The top straps rubbed my skin a little when I first purchased them, but nothing bad enough to cause blisters or cut into my skin (conversely, I had to exchange the 'Amos for this problem). This mild discomfort is resolving with breaking them in. These are so comfy, I am planning to buy additional pairs in different colors, and only feel slightly bad about all the other flip flops in my closet which won't be getting much use.
I love these!
This brand is high quality and durable. I wear my flip flops as 85% of my always (exception times for when cold temps visit—that’s the other 15%). I tried Rainbow but it was too narrow a sole to work for me. I’m a fast walker and like to be able to be very comfortable. I went with Size 9 and expect to use these twice as long until I wear them out. Highly recommend. ‘nice’ $15 flip flops for me yield a year generally. The plus about these is I felt my posture improve, FAR better quality support. I think my spine/body thanked me for just saying yes to these! {Mine are black on black, no blue.} They may feel less cushy than a memory foam flip flop, but I wear I’m standing better with these new ones.
