Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average Pros: LIght and compact. Loved how the bag folded into itself in a handy pouch. 2 side mesh pockets also good for water bottles, umbrellas... Top compartment was roomy as well for frequently accessed items. Cons: Capacity was smaller than I had hoped. Because of it's longish rectangular shape, it was difficult to access items from the middle down when the bag was full. Unless you're carrying soft items or clothing in it, the bag is not comfortable to carry. You really have to pack it carefully/ thoughtfully for it to be comfortable to carry. Lastly, after using it for about 2 weeks straight, the colour of the fabric around the drawstring started to fade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We bought a second one... We've only used this bag a couple of times on hikes and as a day pack while exploring cities, but already know this will be a go-to bag when packing for any trip. It's very lightweight, easy to carry, and the pockets give you quick access to needed items while on the move. I love that it's very compact - I don't feel like I'm lugging some big, stiff bag around that's mostly empty if we happen to not need to carry around much that day. On the flip side, it holds a great deal when you do find yourself needing to carry more than a few items. We bought a second one, as both the husband and I keep reaching for this bag...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful for day trips I borrowed a friend's for a trip to Central America, and it was the single most useful backpack I've ever seen. My friend, who leads ecological tourism trips throughout Central America and has done so for years, said it was the most useful backpack she'd ever seen. On a given trip we were able to pack four bottles of water (important to have in Nicaragua during the dry season), both our passports, both our wallets, a camera, swimwear, a utility knife, a quart bag full of snacks, and we still had space to cram in two towels. This thing held all of that through two motorcycle accidents and being dropped ten feet without any damage. This is, hands down, the best backpack for a day excursion I could imagine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from great bag, bad straps I really like this bag but I'm dissapointed with the stitching. My first bag lasted a year and then the stitching for the front strap came undone. My second bag has only been used for a few trips and I noticed that the shoulder strap stitching is coming loose. I also recently purchased the REI Flash 18 pack which shares the same shoulder straps and I noticed the stitching on the straps are starting to fall apart as well. The heaviest thing I've carried in the bag is a 1L water bladder for day hikes. Besides the poor stitching, the only other improvement to the bag that I would like to see is a chest strap like the one on the REI Flash 18 bag. Then this bag would rock!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not for short people Not recommended for short torsos. Nice looking bag, spacious side pockets, and top pocket (that bag folds into), great sturdy material, quality shoulder straps, but no sternum or hip strap (doesnt need a full webbed hip belt, nylon would do, but it doesnt have that. Bought this as a day pack, not for extended hikes bc as mentioned, it doesnt have sternum or hip strap, but unfortunately, once weighted down, for my torso it distributes the weight oddly, the bag is too long for my torso so it bends away from my back and throws all of the weight into my lower back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect day hike pack I like the fact that the pack stuffs into itself to make a small package that doesn't take up much room in a suitcase. It has been serving me well on day hikes. The zippered top holds a lot and the bag closes securely. The only problem has been that water bottles fall out of the mesh pockets. These pockets really need straps or elastic around the top so the contents doesn't fall out when you take off the pack..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Little Pack, Full Capacity I travel to under developed countries to provide medical aid and teach local medical professionals in current patient care. When I leave the staging area to go out in the field I can throw everything from my stethoscope, snacks, medical supplies, spare scrubs, and what ever else I need for the day. When I travel back to the states I can fold it back up into it self and put it in my bag to save room for my other things. I wish it had a hydration pouch so I can throw my hydration bladder in there. I have to carry bottle water and sometimes that gets in my way to carry other things I want to carry with me. If it had some loops for attaching stuff that would be great also. But for what I do it does me well on my trips and hope to buy a few more in the future to have in my other bags when I travel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing bag! This bag really can hold a lot. It's a perfect day bag. Yes the water bottles can fall out but I only had to push them back in once while I was traveling all over Columbia (the country). I fit in a fleece, raincoat, 3 books, all my travel stuff, odds and ends, and purchased items- along with some food. easy to sling over one shoulder. Only carried one water bottle. The ONE downside I experienced was that I wanted to keep my wallet, passport, and money out from the bottom of the bag (but accessible without pulling everything out)- There is a great top zipper but someone could easily steal out of that. I wish there was a hidden travel zipper under that top pocket so I could keep valuables zipped in there. That wasy I could have it on my back and not worry about someone unzipping and stealing things out of it.

Is this pack waterproof. I am trying to find two bags (one for my husband & one for me) for our jet skiing adventures.

Asked by: Kat662014
No, it is not waterproof. The material is waterproof, but the seams have not been sealed. This pack cannot be completely closed.

I would like to seal the seams, can you be more detailed on the material used for this stuffsack (silicone-coated ripstop nylon, polyurethane-coted ripstop nylon, etc.) and what seam sealer you would recommend.

Asked by: vwcamper
This daypack is made from a polyurethane coated nylon. The Gear Aid Seam Grip Seam Sealer is a great choice for sealing the seams. https://www.rei.com/product/603034/gear-aid-seam-grip-seam-sealer

How much weight can this handle comfortably?

Asked by: Speech Nomad
We do not have a recommended load rating for the Stuff Travel Daypack. This is a great, ultralight pack that can fold flat for travel, but since it does not have a robust suspension system, it is best suited for light loads.
