Great chain… Make sure you read the instructions!

Very solid and consistent chain. I did find out, though, that there is a different chain for a double chain ring and a triple chain ring. Also, the chains are Uni-directional. Make sure you have the right chain.

Great Chain

i was upgrading my shimano ultegra 6700 system from a 11-28 cassette to a 12-30 cassette. i needed to do this to give more choices on steep climbs and i rarely used the 11 tooth sprocket. i bought the new chain in case i needed to extend the chain length after installing the larger sprocket. the 11-28 chain had 106 links. i tried this chain after adding the new cassette but it compromised the smooth shifting. i installed the new chain adding 2 more lnks (to 108 links) and if was just right. i tried the new set-up on some familiar climbs and i noticed the difference. now i can't wait to try the super-steep hills where i will need the additional leverage. even though i've had the bike for over a year now i only been stumped on climbs twice, but that was enough for me to make the change. i don't miss the 11 tooth sprocket; i only used it downhill at speeds that were risky at my age, so it was a compromise that made sense.

smooth chain

My bike pedals so smoothly after replacing the chain with the Ultegra. No issues so far. I always use shimano chains and should get another 4 to 5000 miles out of this one.

This chain can be out of spec right out of the box

Be careful when you buy this Shimano chain. Three of the last four that I bought or checked at the store already showed 0.5% of chain stretch out of the box, using a Park tool. In other words, two thirds of the wear was already present in the "new" chain. I gave up and bought a KMC chain which was solidly at 0% wear.

works very well with my 5 y 0 bike

I had a FSA chain that went to pot after putting the bike on the MARTA train and I brought it in for repair. Dan in the bike shop, N.E. Expressway location had me back out in the same day! Peachtree Bicycles had taken a week and did absolutely nothing and no part received from online order as well.

Works well, wish it lasted longer

My wife is pretty easy on bike equipment, but this has become the most commonly replaced item on her bike. Works well for 4,000 miles, then is degraded to the point that shifting is difficult and noisy in spite of any adjustments. Would like to try the DuraAce chains but REI doesn't carry them.

Standard chain

Not much to say here, standard chain, easy to put on, long lasting (depending on how you ride)
