Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Rack I bought this knowing that I had a retractable cover and was hoping that it would work with it. Unfortunately there was too much pressure on the railing, so I found an alternate mounting location inside of the bed and the rack works perfect (2012 ford f150 (see pictures). I think this rack will be good for driving normal roads getting to the trails, but if you were to off road with it in your truck (not sure how good it would hold up). The way I have it mounted, will work perfect for what I need it for. Very fast and secure way to mount your bikes in the bed. I also bought the wheel mounts from thule that work great to keep my wheels secure.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work in my truck I have a 2014 Dodge Ram with a X-line spray in liner. I can't seem to get the rack tight enough to stop it rotating. One time I did not have the skewer tight enough for the roads I was traveling (Newfoundland) that one of the two bikes twisted out of the skewer. Lucky for me (or was it some forethought?) I had used a simple cable lock to secure teh bike to one of the u bolts that Dodge placed in the bed. I will see about returning the rack when I get back but... it will have over 5000 miles of travel! First item I have purchased from REI that I seriously dislike....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Rack for Pick-Up Bed Love this rack. Once set up, this rack installs in your truck bed in only a couple of minutes and gets you on the road or back home from the trail quick. Its construction is lightweight and durable and just feels like good quality though I think the main bar could be a bit beefier. Nevertheless, this rack performs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The screwing system gets cross-threaded! Ideal system for a truck only if they are able fix the problem with the screwing mechanism on the opposite side of clamp.

What is the difference between Items #103154 and #805590?. Do they both attache to the bed rail, or can you affix one or both of them lower down in the bed against the bed wall?

Asked by: rickybra
The Thule Bed Rider Bike Rack (REI #103154, Thule #822XTR) is the newer of the two bed racks. The differences are design aesthetics. The Bed Rider also includes 3 locks: a lock to lock each bike to the bar and one to lock the bar to the truck bed.
