As expected
When you buy something online you do research, read reviews, record data in a spreadsheet, blah blah blah. What you really want is what you paid for and as timely as they promise. Well this was delivered ahead of time and better that the 1,2,3,4 star reviews I read. Thanks REI!

Stolen Bike
I locked my bike in my truck at a hotel and left it unattended for 15-20 minutes. When I returned the cable was cut and the thieves were driving away with my bike. This cable didn't hold up at all.

A piece of rope would be just as effective

My wife had her bike stolen using this lock to secure it, they cut through it like butter. Also, this lock is not listed in their lifetime warranty registration, so you are out of luck.

Not secure, not easy to use

I knew it wouldn't be very secure, but I was using it for young kids' bikes at school and needed something without a key so they could operate it independently. Even when brand new, it was confusing for kids and adults to use because the "handles" and the "arrow" look similar, so it's not intuitive how to enter the correct code. After less than two weeks, the lock won't open even with the code we entered. Back to the drawing board for a starter lock for kids. 👎👎👎

A lock that won’t open is useless

I was unable to open the lock in order to create a combination. Brought it back to the store and nobody at the store could do it either.

It did ok...for a few months

I live in a small city and keep my bike locked outside of my apartment. Less than 6 months of using this lock and someone stole my bike. I check it every day. It looks like someone was able to pick the lock because when I found my bike, they were still using my lock (in addition to one of their own). I think it's ok for quick trips, but definitely not overnight in a semi-busy city.

Nice.. but not sure how durable

I bought this in early fall to use along with another set of locks. I really like how compact and packable the cable is. Setup was a breeze with barcode and changing the lock code is also intuitive. Overall, for the price, it is a good buy. I would recommend this as a supplemental lock and not a stand alone lock. I feel that while the product is strong and easy to use, it may not be durable enough for prolonged use and is definitely prone to damage if tried to cut. For the use I have, I definitely find this a good purchase.
