BEST CHAIR EVER

I will start off explaining i'm big. BIG as in, all caps BIG. I have searched for years for something I can take to the beach. Something that is easily portable, something light enough I can carry across sand dunes and not get tired, and most importantly, something that WON'T BREAK under my weight! I never thought I would find all of this AND a chair wide enough for me! No screw or pins to lock into place- just pull it open and sit! Does not buckle, does not collapse. Not even a wobble! Due to the fact it has solid bar legs, It can easily sit on the soft sand, WITH ME IN IT and not sink right down like a standard peg leg chair. No open holes also means sand and water haven't invaded the frame causing nastiness to grow inside. Its the PERFECT chair! So light, my 9 yr old son carries it because he thinks he will get to steal it if he plops it down first! And folks, make whatever jokes you want, but someone reading this will thank me for explaining that when I say it is wide enough for me and holds my weight, I mean that I am OVER the weight capacity of the chair! It has enabled me to get more active, go for long walks, trying to get fit- because when my back goes out on me, I have somewhere safe and sturdy to sit and rest till my back lets up and I can continue, instead of whining back to the car!

Jealousy inducer

CONS It weighs more than other chairs. It folds down but I would not call the result compact. Cosmetic imperfections begin showing up as soon as it is used. Attaching/unattaching the back rest to the base is a project as the pieces are very tight. Will try filing and/or greasing the contact areas to see if that helps. It is a very, very comfortable chair. So comfortable, in fact, that anyone who sits in this chair won't want to go back to their personal chair. The CONS ensure that this is not a perfect product. That being said, I'm picking up another based on its comfort and price point.

FINALLY a Comfy Camp Chair!

I must have purchased 5 different camp chairs over the years in an effort to find one that wouldn't leave my back in pain after a weekend of camping. I have finally found my chair. The director style chair keeps the cross bars from cutting off circulation to your legs as most folding camp chairs do. It also offers a wide, flat seat pan that is easy to get in and out of without tipping over. The only down sides are: the chair does not fold up very small (they make a smaller version but with a lesser weight rating) and I have to kick people out of this chair each time I vacate it. Even the little kids prefer it to their special kid sized chairs. It is well worth the price for the comfy ride!

OK chair

Hard to decide whether this is aluminum or steel. Certainly has the weight of steel. It is a sturdy very useable chair that suffers from average finish and workmanship. The rubber padding on the handrests started to peel after a couple of uses. This is a heavy chair to lug around for family camping but worth it. Does not exactly fold into a compact bundle. At the [$] price it will certainly outlast the [...] chairs and is very handy for spectator sports.Knowing what I know now I would not purchase this chair again.

Best chairs around

We bought a pair of these over the summer to replace old fold up chairs for a camping trip up north. They exceeded our expectations. They are so sturdy that when you are sitting in one and your 2 kids jump into your lap, there is no fear that you're going down. We liked them do much that I bought a pair for my Dad for Christmas.

GRRRREAT CHAIR!

This is a GREAT chair! It is designed for us old retired former backpackers. It is wide for old fat butts, and high for old blown out knees. And built to take the load. Heck, I am a big guy and appreciate that I can RELAX in this chair without worry of it collapsing. And just how far are you going to carry a camp chair anyway?

Made of Steel!

I have a very similar [...] chair - this one is made of steel - the [...] is aluminum. This one is very heavy to carry (my wife won't carry it, so she gets my[...] chair). However, it is sturdy and very comfortable - way better than the folding chairs.

Love it!

This is a great chair. I can't say enough good things about it. It pulled me from the despair of the uncomfortable folding chairs that I have had to endure. :o)
