solid

If you're looking for 3 pin cross country/ backcountry touring bindings, your best choices are this or the Voile HD Mountaineer. Both are excellent bindings. For a cable-less design, these are my favorite ( and voile 3 pin cable for a beefier set up). If you want an exceptionally durable 3 pin binding for rugged, hard-use, this is a great buy. I would not recommend it for actual telemark skiing. If you're deciding between this and the HD Mountaineer, I find that this binding is easier to manipulate/get your toe into/etc. It's remotely possible that this binding is more fragile because there is a plastic component, however, it isn't structural and I've never had an issue with it through really hard use.

Simple and Solid

Simple and solid. This one grips so I don't rip out the toe when doing tele turns on leather boots. The plastic mentioned in the other review fell off mine more than 20 years ago, but has no effect on function. It was there so you could push on the tab with bare hands.

Simplicity is elegance

This is my favorite binding for XC touring/light telemark. I tried the Voile cable 3-pins and found the cable did very little to support my size 13 feet and popped off frequently during descents. The Rotte Super Tele is lighter and the tab is easier to clamp and release than Voile's. I use these on everything from 51mm-waisted XC skis to wider telemark skis with Crispi & Andrew Shoes leathers...sublime!

boot and binding compatability

These bindings are not compatible with Scarpa T3 nor Garmont's Excursion boots. Carl

replacement bindings seem great

Finally had to replace the original bindings on my very old Trucker waxable skis (they broke) These Rotafellas are a little wider, heavier but seem to be sturdy, straight-forward 3-pin bindings. I was able to change out the bindings myself. Looking forward to some more years of XC Skiing
