Installed fine

As far as being a generic replacement the pads installed fine. The pads are not symmetric with respect to the posts. A few notes on the correct install direction should be included to aid the user.

They seem fine and stop better than the old pads.

No complaints. These are no-frills and stop just fine. The ones on my old 26" touring mountain bike had hardened into bricks so these fit the bill and stop the bike just fine, even loaded down with 50lbs of gear on it. They are directional and marked for each side. Just pay attention while you're installing them and they'll be fine.

Not "long-wearing"

On a winter commuter bike, braking seems adequate (though less than I expected for the size), but I'm quite disappointed in how quickly one of the brakes has worn. (Incidentally, my pads are the ones pictured but different from the ones described, I believe. My package says "mountain sport.")

Very Grippy

These went on my old 90's Shimano. Very good braking power for a rim brake

Still not enough brake power.

I was once again force to buy the same brand REI does not carry any competitor. I need something with more grab & stop power. I have front disk brake on front I'm gonna half to get the brake pad apperatus put back put on dual brakes on the front hopefully not over brake flip the bike over on my head. Or soon I get some wear money on them check with many bike store or eBay it to find something better.

Perfect for my old GT

These are a perfect fit for my old GT and they're relatively simple to install. They also had a lower price than similar parts on Amazon!
