YES ! its a LARGE
I just purchased this last night and put it on my pack today. I was worried about getting one large enough for my Argon 110 with my Thermarest strapped on, and it is, it fits great. It took me a bit to figure out to put the "snap cord" over the top of the shoulder straps to secure it to the pack without it running across the middle of the back pad. Set up like this, I think it should stay in place pretty well. I had NO PROBLEM putting it back in the stuff sack, just keep stuffin. This is a LARGE!! I don't think it would fit well on an 85 ltr pack, it would be very loose. The color is a dark charcoal or black, not the dark brown that it looks like in the photo, I like it.
great
kept everything dry. it was raining the entire 5 mile hike to the campsite we happend across. even kept the bear bag dry over night. this thing id great. I have a 70 litre bag and my girlfriend has a 65 litre bought the same one for both bags and it kept everything dry through all kinds of downpours
Doesn't get very snug
I have an Osprey Atmos 65, this rain cover was huge for it. I went with the large to allow for sleeping pad, etc. to be on the outside of the pack and have the raincover still fit. The cover was very tall, great for taller packs, not for mine. It also does not get very snug to the pack. There is one draw cord, but it doesn't cinch very much. Finally, it is not fun or easy to re-stuff in the given stuff sack, once I got it out, I couldn't get it back in all of the way. I will be returning this one for a Sea to Summit Ultralight Backpack Cover.
Good cover for largest backpacks
I bought this pack cover to fit my Osprey Aether 75 for a recent backpacking trip I took in the Sierras. As expected, there were thunderstorms along the trail for two of the five days, and this pack cover worked very well even in the face of heavy wind-driven rain. My pack and all of the contents inside were completely dry. The pack cover has several attachment points that secure it to the pack, and elastic cords to keep the cover tightly closed. This cover should be used with large packs, and I can see how people with smaller packs get leaks and a loose fit. It was a little difficult to re-pack in the attached pouch, but I was able to get the entire cover back in after careful folding. I am glad I bought this pack cover, it kept my gear dry and added little weight.
Not good
Pros - Comes with a mesh drying bag Comment - HUGE Osprey logo Cons - Does not fit large Osprey bags well (not snug) - Does NOT have a drain hole at the bottom, so under heavy winds if any water is driven inside the cover or soaks through the belt or other webbing it will stay there in soak into the bottom of your pack. Major FAIL. I returned it and got a Sea to Summit, but is somewhat lighter and has the drain hole.
A raincover for external frame packs
Previous reviews are right. This raincover is huge. When I pulled it out of it's stuff sack and wrapped it around my my 25 year old Hulubar external frame pack it fit, even with my sleeping pad attached. It's just what I've been looking for. Stuffing the raincover into attached stuff pocket is a tight fit but doable.
good so far
to start off i havent used it just bought it along with my aether 70 pack today. i logged on to read reviews bc sometimes they have useful tips. i see everyone talking about having a bit of troubles repacking it... so i tried it out, no issues what so ever, just rolled it up tight and shoved it in the attached bag. everything fit maybe a new design? anywho it fit easily. cant wait to try it out in the trails.
Large size is ridiculously large
I agree with the previous reviewer in that the rain cover is huge. I bought it online at the same time I purchased my women's Osprey Waypoint 85 travel pack and it's so big it could cover two of the Waypoint 85 packs. This is disappointing because the rain cover specs say the large fits 60+ litre bags.....very misleading. It should say it fits +100L bags. I'm also disappointed because since I had the item shipped to me in Canada and had to pay duty on the item. I will have to see if the local Osprey dealer will exchange the item....although I doubt they will since they don't carry these rain covers (I'll try anyways). Additionally, as the previous reviewer mentioned, the rain cover is very difficult to pack back into it's stuff sack. If I could do it all over again, I would not have ordered the rain cover at the same time as the pack. I would have bought the pack, then went to the local outdoor-gear store and tested out rain covers with the pack itself.
Works great, looks awesome
Works great. Looks sick over my Atmos 65. The one I got, the color was actually a dark metallic grey color. Looked better than the brownish one in the picture.
Keeps things dry, Fits like a glove.
A little pricey but if you want the quality it's a good buy.
