I'm 5'3, 100# and have an 8' sit on top that's 29" wide. I was told I needed a 190cm paddle, which didn't work so I purchased a 230cm Skagit, (which now appears to be the last SMALL SHAFT Werner in the country.). It totally rocks. Much easier on my small hands and appears to be a lot lighter weight. Perhaps my endurance is building up, but I'm able to keep up with my friends and able to paddle longer. PS, I'm 76!
I am using this with an inflatable kayak. It is light and comfortable. The variety of feathering options is nice and I have found myself changing the feathering just to change my paddling movements if I go out for a longer period of time. The smaller shaft does make a difference; it is a great option.
Kayak paddle is not only great but the smaller size shaft fits my medium sized hand. Staff was especially helpful in instructing me how to use the small sized paddle blade. It also resists salt and is light weight. Highly recommended.
