Nice lightweight paddle. The paddle is almost more important than the kayak. Especially for long trips. It’s worth spending money on this.
Bought a Werner Kaliste--- another great paddle but a low angle. After paddling a few years, and being told I had a "high angle" style I tried a few others-- including bent shaft Cypress, Shuna straight shaft is the keeper. It is a little heavier than the carbon/foam sandwich Kaliste, but sturdier fiberglass construction. The few extra ounces pay off in rock gardens and oyster beds when you need a strong paddle. The high angle is great for working your "core" and for picking up the pace. I still keep the Kaliste on my boat and use it for rescues and for some leisurely paddling. If I could take only one, it would be the Shuna.
Lightweight and sturdy. Good performance on open water. Still comfortable at the end of a long day.
Good quality paddle overall. Works as intended for a kayaker of average fitness. This paddle has a mid-sized blade (615 sq cm). If you prefer a more powerful stroke, you may need a paddle with a larger blade.
