Works for me
Based on my favorable experiences with the Aquatainer, I bought one of these Jumbos. Used it to refill my popup camper water tank when I'm not hooked up to water. Like it's slim design because I can strap it to my rear bumber. The handle placement makes it much easier to pour compared to the Aquatainers. Hasn't developed leaks yet as other posters have mentioned, but I do only use it several times/yr. As to the spout and spigot leaks, this is an easily solved problem for both the Aquatainers and Jumbotainers. Wrap the threads 3x with plumbers' teflon tape and the leaks stop. This little trick also allows you to keep the spigot properly positioned.

For the price it's good
at first i was enamored with the container(s), after several long hunting/camping trips in varying temps i understood what it's best for. car camping and gentle use. the spout is succeptible to breaking, both from tightening and from shearing, broken three already. the container leaks from the vent hole, even with the plug installed. eventually all of mine developed cracks/leaks in the bottom(s). the trailer would be soaked before i made it half way out of town. could be from freezing temps, could be from heavy use, could be from poor casting. don't know. that being all said, i'm about to buy a few more. for the price if they last 2 years i'm satisfied that i got money's worth. just be aware of it's limitations.

So far so good

Bought this about a year ago, used it several times on camping trips and offroading trips (very rugged terrain). At first I was annoyed with the spout, as when I tightened it down it pointed up, so when I wanted to use it I had to loosen the spout and water would leak out. Annoying, but I could live with it. I didn't over-tighten the spout as it was obvious doing so would just crack it, which would not be good... recently I went to the hardware store and picked up a $1 rubber gasket/washer thing from the plumbing section (I actually took the spout in the store to make sure I got the right size). This fixed the spout and now it points down and there was no leaking at all. I'm planning on buying another one of these.

Leaky "pressure release"

Like many other reviewers, I also had problems with the cap leaking at first. After taking the cap on and off several times, it seems to work better. The real design flaw is the little vent cap. My blue Aquatainer that has worked great for 20 years has a thread on cap for the pressure release valve. This jug has a tiny little hole drilled into the plastic like an afterthought, with a little press-fit "peg" cap that won't stop a leak when new, and certainly won't after years of use. I want to return this jug, but it fits just right in a space I have in the back of my truck. With a full jug on a bumpy road, my clothing bag got pretty wet, despite the jug being stored upright. Very poor design.

So far so good!!!

Recently order this container for a kitchen remodel we are currently doing and needed a big jug for water. Was hesitant due to leaky reviews but liked the design and size for future car camping use. 1st time we filled jug and put on it’s side yes it did leak at big cap. Rethreaded the cap on and got a right seal and for 4 days have had NO leaking at all. Spout works great and feels very sturdy. (did by extra spout just in case) I think the cap can ever so slightly cross-thread and cause leaks maybe? Once tight have had no problems. Side note - Saw this container camping a few weeks ago and it was a nice Teal Green color (like stock photo) and we wanted that color. The container that showed up is a Royal Blue as pictured. Not huge deal but it is not green. Will buy another next spring for car-camping for sure

Cheap materials, but good for awhile

After 3 years this jug sprung a leak in the lower corner where other reviewers have mentioned the material is too thin too withstand long term use. At about the same time the jug started leaking, the spigot also broke by way of a crack which caused the spigot to fall apart. I do have to admit this jug has been easy to carry, load, and the spigot was convenient before it broke. It also lasted through pretty heavy use before the leak and spigot shut it down. However, I have a 6 gallon Reliance jug with the pour spout that is older than this 7 gallon spigot model... and it is still going strong! The 6 gallon pour spout model uses better materials and has no spigot to break.

Great Container

I needed a water container to serve three purposes. 1) Store water in my apt in case of an emergency 2) Store water at the camp site 3) Haul water to my deck to water my plants This does a great job for all three purposes. Love the cap/spicket design, and the mouth is wide enought for any kind of spout for filling it. Its quite heavy when full, but the plastic feels strong enough to handle it. I had the other square Reliance container, but got this one instead because of the extra handle on the top/back. This allows you to pour from the jug. Great all around.

Actually does work

Initially I bought this and it immediately leaked from the cap pretty substantially. I figured it had to be defective and was going to return it. I bought at the REI store so didn't look first at the reviews or I probably would not have made the purchase to begin with. Anyway, I filled it up slightly, tipped upside down to get it to leak, then took off the cap, and did the same thing again - I found that it then worked - and haven't had a problem at all since. I bought another one and went through the same process. Not sure what fixes the problem, but that was my experience both times. So now I'm quite impressed by this water container. It has a great design, made of heavy plastic, large capacity so nice for longer camping trips, and really well priced.

Good handles, weird execution

I have spent an inordinate amount of time on the subject of water containers recently. Why are some $50 and others $10? Is there something I'm missing about grades of plastic? What is the optimal ratio of width to height? What is the best water spout design? This one is almost there but I'm going to return it. I really appreciate the two handles for grabbing at weird angles, but the spout seems really finicky/poorly designed, and I can already see I'm going to spend a ton of time trying to keep it from tipping over. It's otherwise pretty good, but not worth keeping. At least not for me. For those that care about these things, the color on the picture isn't true to reality. This thing is a bright, primary color blue. Bright like a tarp.

Can't camp without it anymore!

I can't believe I ever camped without this! It takes up very little space in my trunk area, because of the way it was designed. Easy to lift, because of the two seperate grips. I waste very little water washing hands and dishes due to the spigot. *I also love the fact that the spigot can be turned into the container when in transit (something not shown in the picture) this way you don't have to worry about damaging it.
