Handy

Way more handy than I thought. I purchased during government shutdown in anticipation of not getting a park map. I did however get a park map but ended up using this map instead. The hikes and roads I was looking for were present and accurate on this map while absent on the park map. Perhaps I’ll purchase more of these maps for other parks now.

Exactly what you need to navigate Death Valley

Forget GPS. The one NPS gives you doesn't have details you need. The topo lines and details in this map saved the day while we were hiking through a canyon. It also has all the dirt roads and ghost towns that might be of interest. It shows the trails and roads clearly. Recommend it. Without it, the trip would not have been as successful. It's waterproof unlike the ones you print off the map websites. It's large and easy to make sense of, and worth every penny. If you want to do more than a drive tour, this is necessary.

Tough map

These maps have the water & tear resistant paper which is required for longevity and field use. The National Geographic maps are loaded with local amenities. Detail is great for this size of a map.

Great Map in Natl. Park Series

This has detailed topography and hiking routes. Clear listing of landmarks. Map is sturdy and looks like it will resist wear. Will buy others in the series.
