Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not just for looks and stickers people! Great add on to your Thule rack. And like the header says, it's not just for the looks and stickers! It actually serves a purpose. Purchased the base rack for my 2011 Hyundai Elantra and the afternoon I received it I ran out of time while installing the whole thing. At 35-40 MPH my rack sounded like it was making a small tornado on my roof... uh oh! Came home that night and put on my fairing... PROBLEM SOLVED 100%. Had no idea anything was even on my roof! May be just a tad bit shorter than I would like but the next size up would probably be too long... not a biggy at all. Still looks and works great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fairing. Had to modify install. Fairing went on great to my Volvo S40, once I reversed the recommended setting of the attachment mechanism. The recommended settings clearly had the outer supports be longer than the inner ones causing the fairing to warp awkwardly when mounted (fairing wanted to be concave). I reversed the directions and had the outer attachments be shorter than the two inner ones making a slight convex shape that fit the car nicely. Not sure if that was just my car (instructions not vehicle specific), or just an inconvenient typo. Now that it is on it works well in reducing wind noise and looks cool to boot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product but flimsy construction Purchased this to reduce wind noise from my roof rack, which it definitely does. You can still hear a little bit of a whirring sound at 70+ mph, but honestly you wouldn't notice it if you weren't listening for it. Product works and looks great. My only complaint is that the construction seems a bit flimsy. I thought it was going to be a thicker, harder piece of plastic, but this is kind of thin and flexible. I'm not sure if that helps with the airflow or something, but it wasn't what I was expecting. Also, the instructions are a joke, which seems to be a common trend with Thule products. Overall, I'm happy with this product and I'm glad I chose this over the Yakima rack and fairing because you don't have to uninstall this fairing should you want to use a cargo box, haul kayaks, etc.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Be weary if removing... I have removed the fairing once, even though I was doing it carefully, a few of my clips broke. Two of my four plastic clips which wrap around my cross bars snapped, along with 2 of my fairing arm which attach to the cross bar clip. The plastic has little give... I have owned the fairing from about march 2010-present and when i went to remove the fairing for the this winter of 2011, those clips snapped. It's disappointing that Thule would resort to such a cheap plastic which can't even withstand less than a year of sun warp. What is even more upsetting is that thule doesn't even carry replacement clips... what am I to do now? I purchased it brand new from REI in conshohocken march of 2010... However, this unit does cut down on a lot of noise and makes your car look cooler..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2009 Ford Escape I installed Thule 58" cross bars on the factory side rails on my 2009 Ford Escape. That cause a fair amount of wind noise above 60 mph. Thule calls for the 38" fairing which would fit inside the factory side rails. I purchased the 44" fairing which is perfect. It extends just beyond the side rails and cross bar attachments. This made a huge reduction in the wind noise at 80 mph. I highly recommend the 44" fairing over the 38". Besides the wider fairing just looks better on the car.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the price... Installed the 38" fairing on my Thule Traverse footpack with square load bars on my Honda Civic - made an INCREDIBLE difference. Before I had the fairing, any speed over 40 mph caused loud whirling/whistling sounds on the roof. Once I installed the fairing, I seriously could barely tell anything was even up on my roof! Well worth the price - any reviews that say this doesn't work are written by people who either did not install the fairing properly (which I could totally believe) or bought the wrong size. If you have a Thule roof rack, get the fairing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fairing I bought this fairing to cut the noise from the square bars and it works perfectly. The fairing mounts easily and once adjusted to fit lays nicely on the roof of my Volvo XC70.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits good, reduces road noise The lady at the store thought it would be a good idea to buy this to reduce road noise. I ignored her thinking it would be fine. I was wrong, a loud whistling noise happened if I drove faster than 25MPH. Adding the fairing made the noise disappear. The fairing comes in an easy to assemble kit. Pay attention to the mounting bracket position, the position is different between the middle brackets and the two outer ones. (Page 4 step 7 on the 872)The only annoyance is it shows finger prints anywhere you touched it.

Do I need to purchase the fairing kit and the airscreen in order to get full kit?

Asked by: RAGUILAR
No, you do not need to purchase the Fairing and the Airscreen to get a full kit. The Fairing includes all necessary components to mount a windshield on standard Thule or Rapid Aero crossbars. The Airscreen performs the same function on Thule AeroBlade, AeroBlade Edge and SquareBars.

I'm having trouble using the fit guide to find what size I need. I drive a 2014 Nissan Versa 4-door, and I already have a roof rack on my car from Thule. I was hoping to get the size needed for my type of car.

Asked by: Chris Kincaid
Be aware this fairing is for Thule Square or Rapid Aero bars only, not Aeroblade bars. The recommended size for your rack, assuming you have the recommended 50 inch bar, is the 44 inch fairing.
