Just what I needed?!
This is a great little compact table for my off road needs, with one exception- it's a little short. So I bought some 3/4" aluminum tubing and cut 4-leg extensions, drilled and pinned at about 1.5" from the leg bottom. I set two height positions and notched the extensions to accommodate the table riviets (see the pictures)
Great for car camping!
This table is sturdy, durable, easy to setup, easy to clean, and comes with a packable bag. It fits my camping stove really well, I own a Eureka Ignite, the smaller version. It can hold a good amount of weight too. I also had my 5 gal water jug on it too. The cons are that the table is short. I am 5'6" and the table comes up to my hips. It's just a little too low, but my back doesn't hurt too bad. The second one is that this is a standing use table only. It has supports on all four sides that makes it impossible to use as a table for eating or games. Kinda sucks, but I am keeping it because it works so well with my stove, it's small enough to pack, and works well for cooking.
Amazing Table
Thought, most good car camping sites have a picnic tables- it can be a hassle to use that table as a cooking center as well. That's where this table becomes an amazing tool! Perfect place to cook and still have room to sit and enjoy your meal. Cleans up easily, set up is super quick and the compact design makings transporting it to the camp site super easy! Fit perfectly in the car top box along side the tent! Could also work well as a game table or even eating surface with most standard camp chairs (We use the REI Comfort LTG chairs -which sit lower than the standard chairs). This is a great accessory for any camper!!
Worked great for outside picnic
This table worked great for an outside picnic. You can’t fit your legs under though so you wouldn’t tenant to have a long meal. What are these hooks for? I saw someone w a storage net but can’t seem to find one on rei.com.
A Design Change??
I bought an REI Co-op Camp Roll Table about a year ago. It is a very nice table for use in camp, sturdy and easy to operate. I decided a second table would be handy and ordered another table. The second table had a bit too much play between the slats when it was set up. It was possible to move the slats so much that there was a 3/8" gap between two slats when all the others were snugged together. Inspecting the table I discovered that while the first table had grommets inserted into each hole in the aluminum slats through which the bungee cords run then second table had an O-ring between each slat instead. I called REI and was told "something is not right." They replaced that table with another one. However, the second table also has the O-rings rather than the grommets--although there seems to be much less play between the slats. Still, the O-ring system does not offer any protection to the bungee cords as they run through the holes. I will use this second table and see if the bungee cords wear through.
Love it
This table is the perfect combination of lightweight and packable while at the size time providing a lot of space to spread your things out. Pairs well with my REI stool as well. The only thing I wish was different is that might be able get my knees under the table, but that’s just me being nit-picky. When you sit next to it your knees with hit the crossbars.
Great camp table
I purchased this table about 6 months ago and have had the opportunity to use it about a dozen times so far. I highly recommend it. In fact, I just picked up another this week and will be getting a third [...]. I do a lot of vehicle dependent overland exploration and I am very conscious of the weight, the amount of room needed to store, and ease of use and durability of everything I load as part of my equipment. This table sets up very easy and once up, it is very stable. I use the first table to hold my Brunton 2-Burner stove. The stove weighs 23 pounds. I've never had even a sense of it being unstable while cooking or prep. The size is good in that it allows the table to pack nicely, while being big enough when set up to be used for a wide variety of tasks. I was going to buy a XL version of this as well to use as my camp kitchen, but it doesn't fold the top so it is long and not as easy to store while traveling. This is why I chose to go with three of the standard square table. One for stove, one for prep and the third for whatever is needed. Having the three units gives me the ultimate flexibility. The top doesn't roll as much as fold accordion style to fit into the carry bag. The legs fold and unfold without any effort and are strong and appear very well made. The storage bag that comes with the table is well made with a drawstring closure and shoulder strap for carrying.
A really good table
I bought this table primarily for airplane camping, but I've also used it for picnicking and car camping. It is sturdy, folds compactly (very necessary for airplane camping), and easy to clean. I use it as my "kitchen", so I have my stove, dishes, pots & pans, coffee pots, etc., on it. I can easily move it without taking anything off the top, into the vestibule of my tent. It has been blown over by propeller wash from other airplanes, without any damage. If it were to be damaged, I'd get another one.
Light weight and Compact
I bought this for car camping and ice fishing. I just used it for the first time for an over night ice fishing trip and I almost thought something was missing from the bag because it was so light. Setup time is about 30 seconds but I did notice it gets pretty stiff setting up in below freezing temps. I'm looking forward to taking this thing all over the state camping this year, only thing I regret is not getting it sooner!
Great for outside cooking
I made leg extensions with PVC pipe. I then drilled holes and put bolts through the pipe for the table legs to rest on. I measured the extensions to give the table the standard kitchen counter height. This table is great for outside cooking, cutting board and prep on one side, camp stove on the other.
