Works well though not worth MSRP

This dryer works relatively well, I picked mine up on clearence years ago and use it after every day of skiing for my boots and gloves. I'd like to see a timer of more then 90 minutes on it as usually takes 2 or 3 cycles for me to get my gear dry - then again a sweat quite a bit. Also works best if you use all 4 dryer ports at once as if you leave any open most the air will head that way. The materials work but if dropped feels like the plastic would shatter - overall there isn't a lot too it and its pretty light so at retail I say its overpriced and not a good value but if you can get it on clearence its a good deal. 3 stars for value 4.5 for the product.

Nearly perfect boot & glove dryer.

A perfect device for getting warm, dry air into your gloves and boots after a day of skiing. Gets the gloves and boots dry from the inside out, and seems to work very quickly. Has an electric fan and electric heating element to force the air into your gloves and boots (unlike some others). The only potential issue is that the four vent posts are plastic, and I could see them perhaps breaking, as they don't seem very sturdy. On the whole, however, this is a great device for a family of skiers (we use this to dry boots & gloves for four people after a day of wet skiing).

Awesome

This thing is pretty awesome. I got one for [$] during a sale and even though I think it's expensive at [$] it's still a great thing to have. I dry everything with this dryer. From my snowboard boots to my gloves to my regular tennis shoes. It keeps things smelling fresh. No more stinky gear. I really like that it only heats up to normal body temperature, so it doesn't damage gear like putting it into a clothes dryer does. The only thing that could be better about it would be if the dry towers were a little bit taller. They don't reach all the way into my snowboard boots.

The Finest Dyer I ever have

The best I ever have in all my skiing, hiking & snowshoeing years. I have heavy sweating feet that this unit does the job nicely and fast and is ready to wear on next day... Noise does not bother me as the air circulation & heat flow are important to naturally dry out the sweat soaked boot liner. Merino socks are important items to wick out and reduces blisters. On 2nd day wear other clean pair pair of merino make feet feeling abit dryer & less blistering.

Very capable boot/glove drier

Purchased this on sale for a great REI deal. I ski a lot and should have bought this years ago. As per the other reviews this will really do the job. Will make your boot liners last longer and cut down on bad stuff growing in your wet boots and other items. I ski back to back days a lot and can really use this. Can be especially helpful on trips. This blows about as hot as a blow dryer on very low or can be used air only with no heat.

Best choice of all the dryers I've used!

I've tried a number of boot dryers and this is the only one that's really effective. The forced air dries down to the toes of ski boots *AND* gets the upper "cuff" area as well. Really does a thorough job on wet ski boots in about an hour. After about 3 years the heating element went out in my first unit, but REI replaced it without question. Oddly enough, in both units, the vents on the right (while facing the dial) seem to blow a little cooler air than those on the left. My only real gripe is that this unit is a bit bulky - as others have said, the towers seem flimsy so I always transport it in the original box. It would be nice for my family of 4 to have 2 of these - and if they didn't take up so much room in my trunk I would get a 2nd unit in a heartbeat! Balance can be a bit tricky - as adding a single adult ski boot will tip the unit on its side, so I have to start out with a boot on each side then add the other two. Not a big deal, just a gotcha to watch for on first use.

It works great

We use this every time we are done skiing/snowboarding for both boots and gloves. It is very handy, and works well, especially for the gloves (the fingers area).
