Best ice screws available!
These are top notch! Extremely durable nickel plating, ultra sharp saving energy on lead, and a respectable value. I’ve used BD Express Screws since I first started climbing and will continue to until I can’t climb anymore.
An ice cutting marvel.
I am a winter ice fisherman, not a climber. I've tried several "ICE screws" from fishing equipment manufacturers to anchor tents and tarps. Only to be disappointed. This winter, I discovered this product and does it work great. Easy to start. Easy to screw in. Holds like crazy. Unscrews easily. The only con is the shavings fill the inner hole and require a rod to dislodge. I've shown them to other Ice fisherman and one of them already purchased 4. Yes they are expensive but you will only cry when you make the purchase. After that you will be envied by anyone that sees you using them.
Update on the Best
I second the earlier comments and wanted to highlight the good changes. First, the new screws are all stainless steel, my prior generation and other screws rust up even with good care. The new 'coffee grinder' cylinder has become a cone that is much easier to manipulate with gloves and they are now color coded. I have used BD's, Petzl's, Grivel's, and DMM's screws. All are lacking in comparison. Grivel 360s get into pockets best but that is a more rare need.
The Express Crews are Amazing!!!!
The screws are great and I don't have a single complaint. They are the best innovation to modern day ice climbing and they are a life saver literally. I have 11 screws and plan to order a few more, I currently have 22, 19, 16, 13, and a 10. I know they work because I had a buddy take a 30 foot fall on a 16 and it held solid and I've taken a 20 foot on a 13 with no issues. Make sure you research how to use them or take a class because 90% of the reason they work is knowing how to place them correctly. The handle on them is a life saver and makes placement so fast and effortless compared to the turbo and it's well worth the extra money to get these screws. Good luck to all looking to buy and Climb On!!!

Fabulous Ice Screw
I have been using the express ice screws for 15 years and have found them to be a great all around screw for any ice climbing objective. They stay sharp, penetrate well and last forever. I have been tempted to replace them with some of the new ultralight screws but these simply go in better in all types of ice. Wet or dry they do the job.
BD Express
Why are BD Express screws the best? 1. Agressive tooth profile ease starting. 2. Speed dial for fast placement. 3. Very smooth finish makes placing in hard ice and cleaning the core easier. 4. Multiple clipping holes. 5. Narrow gauge hanger makes for efficient racking on your harness (I easily carry 6-7 BD express per ice clipper.)

What a good screw!
My AMGA guide introduced me to these while learning to ice climb in Hyalite. I lead WI4 and this is the only screw that I have. I won't be buying any other screws anytime soon and will replace my current pieces with BD when the time comes. I like the bite and ease of setting. Super smooth insertion/progress, once started. Folding handle is awesome. Rack well. I've driven these right into rocks and frozen dirt on the back side of the falls. The screws had a more difficult time biting into the ice...but that's my fault. The screws still worked and just needed some quick attention in the garage when I got back. Plenty of people have more experience, but I love the product and price. And Black Diamond.

The standard
I have these in express as well as their ultralight. Work great each time, and every time. The only screws I have on my rack.
Sweet ice screws
Easy to place, light, confidence inspiring
Just what the Dr. ordered!
I purchased these anchors for securing a light weight ice fishing shanty. The anchors made quick work of the ice, screwing in with ease and providing a very secure anchor point. The first day I used them, it was blowing steady at 20 with gusts to 40 and the shanty didn't move an inch. A little pricey, but IMHO, well worth it!
