Best lube so far!
I've decided to run the gamet of lubes to see which one I like best. I used ProLink for 3 years before trying others. The only other one I've tried so far is Dumonde Tech Lite. Check it for my review. As far as ProLink it is the best so far! Collects little dirt and dust and lasts a whole lot longer than Dumonde. Works well in wet weather too. Only real complaint is the tip of the bottle. Would be nice if it were at more of a point, but the lube itself is really nice. Keeps things nice and quiet for a good amount of time before reapplication is needed. Will rate other lubes as I buy and try them. Ride On!!
Doesn't hold up in rain
At first I was really impressed with this product, it applied so easily, quick to clean up and didn't leave my chain a gummy dirt magnet. Even after 300-400 miles the chain was still running quiet. Then I got caught in a moderate rain for the last 10 miles of my ride. Not a downpour, just a light, steady rain. But as each mile ticked off the chain kept getting louder and louder as the lube washed away. And after the chain dried a couple hours, much of it was covered with a light surface rust--nothing that would hurt the chain permanently, but it was pretty apparent this product provides little to no corrosion protection.
Not a miracle lube, but works well for me.
I've been using this stuff for ~20 years on road and mtb. It's liquid, but sets up to a slushy semisolid once the solvent evaporates. (similar to T-9) It runs quietly, I get good chain life, and it doesn't accumulate dirt like other wet lubes. I've used it in damp/wet conditions and in dry dusty conditions with good results. I apply it fairly frequently putting a drop on each roller, rotating the crank a bunch of times, then wiping off any excess with a old terrycloth rag. There are many other lubes out there with miracle claims, but this stuff has worked well for me.
Great Road Lube
Someone turned me on to this lube and it works exceptionally well for my road bike.....I use it regularly.
Great for Most Conditions
Pro Link has been my go-to for both road and MTB. I've tried other lubes, and even wax-based products. Pro Link seems to attract less grid than the heavier lubes. The downside--you'll want to lube regularly--particularly after rain. This is not for lube-it-once-and-forget it people.
Good lube when doing regular maintenance
I regularly commute 5 days a week to work. This seems to fit the bill for a weeks worth - by the end of the week, the bike chain needs love again. It is a bit thin, so extreme conditions require a re-lube. Doesn't pick up dirt too bad
I would buy this product again and again
I bought this lube from REI and haven't looked back. I can't believe the way the bike runs with this lube. And the amazing thing was when I went to clean up my bike I noticed that there wasn't any dirt on the chain or cassette like when I used Finish Line so I am a believer of this product and have been using Pro Gold for about 3 months and what a difference you should definably try this lube.
Lube those part!
ProLink is a good lube for both chain and shifter assemblies. Just a drop at each joint, working in with shifting and chain rotating; then a rag to remove the excess. Keeps shifts and pedaling smooth and carefree. Does not attract or buildup dirt. Cleaner than light weight oil, but more expensive.
Prolink Lube
Been using Prolink Chain Lube since it came on the market. My chains seem to last longer without stretching as fast as they used to. I like where I don't get a messy build up of gunk on my chain. Good stuff I'm glad REI is selling it. I used to have to buy it mail order.
Light chain lube, works great in wet PNW weather.
My go-to chain lube. I commute probably 10 miles a day 5 days a week by bike. This lube works great with the wet weather in the PNW. It's a light lube but I like that it also cleans out some of the old muck when you apply it. I still use a chain cleaner every 250 miles and wipe/reapply weekly the chain but the lube really keeps the chain pretty clean.
