Two seats can fit on Penobscot 17
We have a Penobscot 17 and wanted to get two seats in for our kids, I wasn't sure the canoe would fit two. But they fit it nicely against the center and rear thwart. The seats were strong, super light weight, and popped in and out easily. When we flipped the canoe over to put on the roof rack, they didn't grip the sides of the canoe too tightly, so it was just easier to pop them out and put them into the trunk.
Simple and easy to use. Love this seat!
I bought the seat for my OT Camper for a trip to the Boundary Waters. I needed a middle seat for my 8 year old. This one worked great. It popped in and out easily, which I had to do several times for portages. The best part was it stayed in place even when flipping the canoe for portages so I didn't have to carry it loose.
Excellent seat
This is a great seat. Fits my two little boys next to each other. It does not “snap in” to my Penobscot 16 so it falls out when the canoe is stored or carried upside down.
Sturdy. Works great. Grips the gun whales nicely.
The seats snap-in easy, don't slide around, and are plenty sturdy (holds up to 300 lbs.). I have 3 Northstar canoes with wood gunwhales and these worked great (didn't need to be an Old Town canoe w/ vinyl gunwhales) These are a must, if you have a bunch of kids coming along so no one has to sit on the canoe floor in the bilge water.
not that great
The fit is not quite right; the angles to sit on the gunwales isn't exact and to snap those sides over them is not very easy. A little difficult to stretch over the gunwales, and couldn't completely snap down the second side. It will suffice but doesn't look quite right.

Fits Like a Glove
I bought this a couple of weeks ago and tried it our in our Old Town Discovery 158 canoe. As expected, it fit perfectly and provided a nice seat for two of our young grandchildren to enjoy a ride.
Seat is perfect for balancing your position solo
I wanted to so that I could better ballance for solo in my 16 ft works prefect. I’m in the middle and the pups on one in front and one in the back and I can keep us dry till they jump IN :)))))
Bring a third
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super handy seat, easy way to bring along a third person. My canoe has no thwarts so there is plenty of legroom. Easy to use and store.
Great product!
Can't think of an easier way to add a third seat or set up your canoe to be paddled solo.
Great Seat! We would definitely recommend it.
