Worth it

I’m very pleased with comfort and ease of installation of the canoe chair . Oddly enough, neither the manufacturer or REI provide instructions or even decent pictures of how to attach to canoe seat, so here goes: there are straps on underside of chair that go under seat and connect to a buckle latch on the back of chair.Tighten these securely so chair is firmly attached to seat, then tighten the side straps on chair to obtain comfortable position. Fine tune these a bit while sitting in chair. You’re done. Detach in reverse when done canoeing. Using the canoe chair really reduces back ache and makes paddling all the more pleasurable.

Best option there is

Great product. Used for a 5 day trip to the Boundary Waters and was way more comfortable than anyprevious canoe trip. The straps kept the chair to the canoe nicely and the support was great. I was actually able to lounge while paddling. Only recommendation would be for the product to have some type of clip to hold the back support down to the seat while portaging as it can sometimes obstruct your already limited view. Otherwise, 5/5 experience for me.

Perfect for the job

We purchased this for installation in an inflatable kayak (Aire Tomcat Solo) for a disabled vet who need a bit more support than is provided by the factory seat. The Fastex buckle straps on the bottom of the seat made installation a breeze. It provided exactly the support that was needed.

Unimpressed

No way do I trust this to support me on a canoe and I would be shocked if it stayed upright. Overall feels poorly designed.
