"Rock" Solid

every piece of gear has a different use and you don't buy this for a light weight carabiner to clip onto pro, or belaying or for racking your belay gloves to your pack. This is a workhouse carabiner. I've got a lot of use out my 3 for everything from multipitch anchor building, to using as the basework for toprope anchors when we're at the local crag. Versatile. Versatile. Versatile. Not designed to do everything, but then again which carabiner is? definitely worth throwing at least 2 or 3 of these if not more.

would buy it again

Love this carabiner! I'm not sure why...because there isn't too much of a difference in carabiners. They all do the same thing right? I really like the shape, the feel of it, they way it looks, and especially the ease of locking it. The screw gate is so smooth but yet it locks firmly. Again, I also like the shape too! :) It's a good buy...especially for the money!!

"They look nice"

I bought these carabiners strictly for setting top ropes and after only a few months they are showing considerable wear from rope drag. For the price I would've thought they would last a lot longer. I have Omegas that are nearly two years old and showing little if any wear.

Good Top-Roping Anchor 'Biner

The Petzl Am'D, used in pairs, makes an excellent 'biner for top-rope anchors. Two Am'Ds, oriented opposite each other, lie flat and provide a good rope-bearing surface for top-roping.

Not your father's biner

This one is for securing Senji, the Besenji, in her harness while riding in the car.
