It opens bottom brackets

One end you've got three prongs and the other is and open hook that you can use on a variety of bike repair projects. And REI is cheaper then used on EBAY so if you are looking at it right now just go ahead and buy it. But take care if you aren't aligned just right and apply a little pressure at first it will flip off. It's the nature of the beast.

Doesn’t Work Well

A single tooth just isn’t enough to effectively grip and turn the BB cup. Did more damage than good. Ended up having to buy a BB wrench that fits the cup and spreads the turning force through all of the teeth. A much better option and investment. The idea of the spanner wrench with a single tooth is sound and in theory allows us to service any bottom bracket. It just doesn’t work well in the real world.
