It's a Stake
I purchased 10 of these to replace a lost bags of stakes that went with my REI Taj 3 tent, which I use for car camping. In planning an upcoming backpacking trip, I started looking around for some light tent stakes to go with my 1-man tent, checking weights online here at REI. This stake is listed at weighing 0.35 ounces, but in reality weighs 0.5 ounces/14 grams. Picky. All-in-all, this is a generic, lightweight tent stake that works well in dirt, fairly well in the desert, and not at all in loose sand.
Light and strong
I have replaced MSR stakes to this one because it's light and strong, especially the hook makes it a lot easier to pull the stakes out. I like the needle end to pound in the ground much easier. I bought 8 of them to use for my backpacking, depending on what tent 1 that I take out. I highly recommend it than buying pricy stakes. It does a job and LIGHT too.
A Most excellent stake
OK, in all seriousness. I needed to stake down some soccer goals and this is probably the fourth type of stake I tried. We play in LA, where the ground is rock hard and it's a challenge to hammer stakes in, and harder yet to pull them out. Not with these. No problems whatsoever in either direction. We may have a winner.
Not bent even after a pounding.
Sturdy hooks for tents, tarps and more. I used this to hold a front yard Christmas tree base in place. The base and tree bent, but the stakes held the base steady in a 20+ MPH wind.
Sturdy tent stakes that I can't seem to bend
I bought these to replace the ones that came with my Kelty tent. I don't have to baby them and they seem to take whatever I throw at them with ease. I pick a spot and step on them, no hammer needed here. They are a tad bit heaver than other options but I'll gladly take the weight penalty for something a bit more resilient.
price is good but qualty is ?
Price and size is good but two (out of 8) of them bent on first outing. Staked down my tent and rainfly in the sandy/pebbly ground and two of them bent. Not terribly but enough to be annoyed that it happened on the first outing.
Light but . . .
I bought these to replace steel stakes of the same size/ shape. These were much lighter, but I had one pull out of the ground in strong winds. . . I am now switching to a y shaped stake
Grandma on the road
Useable and not very hardy. I had pretty hard ground and these bent a little during use.
strong
It is a sturdy stake. Exactly what one would expect from a tent stake
They work fine!
same stake came with my tent, just needed a couple of extra
