A worthwhile investment
Bottom line: You've already got the Snow Peak Giga Power Stove, now get the Windscreen. With the Windscreen, fuel efficiency improvement is significant. Time to boil a pot of water is noticeably reduced, especially in a breeze or wind. The Windscreen slips on and off the four stove wires without a problem. I don't leave home without it.

No fuel efficiency or time savings. Wind???
I filled the same pot with 500 mL of water at the same temperature twice consecutively. The water was previously collected from the tap and measured (didn't write down the number). Went to my basement so the wind wouldn't be a factor, and using the same pot and opening the valve to the same number of turns, I got the same fuel consumption and boil time with or without the windscreen (four minutes and 0.25 oz of fuel used). I know this isn't a laboratory test nor is my testing scientifically sound, but I was expecting an apparent reduction in numbers with the wind screen due its perceived value as a heat reflector, which should make the water boil more quickly. Of course, in the field, the wind screen may be able to alter those numbers in its favor as a wind barrier. I guess I could hook up a fan... But again, the field is the field and those conditions are hard to replicate with any degree of accuracy, and even if I didn't have this particular wind screen, I would never set a stove without some kind of wind barrier, so I am not interested in running wind tests.

I have used this screen for over a year now. I am very confused at the complaints. Too heavy? Its 2 oz, the lightest/most compact screen out on the market. Too difficult to put on? It takes me about 5 seconds to put on. And once on its stable. This screen and the titanium stove is what made the Snow Peak my favorite. Another great thing is the design. Its helps shield the flame from the canister, which traditional windscreendo not do. Traditional screens can not be used with canister stoves because it heats up the fuel. So why didn't I give it 5 stars? Because the edges are not folder back. Its not sharp, but I do carry it in a ziplock bag just in case.

Great Enhancement to Gigapower Stove

This supercharges the Gigapower stove. Certainly helpful when windy, but even without directs more of the heat towards the cooking surface. There is a marked increase in water boiling time which reduces fuel usage. I find this windscreen quite easy to put in place. Just setup the stove, set the windscreen on top, and then lift each support a little to slide into the slot for it to drop right into place. I have had no issues with this interfering with the auto igniter. It also cools does quite quickly. Unless you are really watching weight, this is certainly a worthy addition to the pack.

Does it's job but gets rusty

This wind protector works very well but it is getting rusty. A titanium or stainless steel version with the same design would be great.

Water boils faster, still need to block wind

This does improve boil times, although it only blocks the wind somewhat. You'll still need to setup kitchen in a protected spot if it's more than just a little windy. Overall I think it's worth the addition.

The pros outweigh the cons

If you own the Giga Power stove, you need this windscreen. Sure, it's a little heavier than I'd like, but at 2 ounces it's still pretty light (in fact, it's lighter than most store-bought windscreens I know). And if you camp in a windy area, you will more than make up for it with the weight of fuel you save! I am always amazed at how much this windscreen increases the efficiency of my stove. It makes the stove pretty much wind-proof, which is more than can be said about most canister stoves. I don't always carry this windscreen, especially when I am hiking in areas where I know I'll find shelter from the breeze. But I carry it whenever I think it might encounter wind. The convenience more than makes up for the weight and slight bulkiness.

Works Well, needs minor mod

Easy to install: screw Gega-Power stove onto fuel canister, fully open pot support arms, THEN - move each arm back in 1/8", NOW wind screen will just drop down onto stove, then open the support arms back to fully open. Problem: When the screen was mounted on my stove, the screen would not allow the pot support arms to fully open. It was close, but I noticed my cook pot always seemed a little out of kilter. The slots in the screen (the suppot arms reached through) did not extend as far out as the arms wanted to go. I modified my screen's slots a little (extended them), then OK. I find he wind screen to be light weight. My Gega Power stove (in it's little plastic box) weighs 127 grams, and my modified wind screen is 55 grams. A full 4oz fuel canister wieghs 230 grams, and will last longer using the wind screen. All in all this wind screen is well worth carrying.

Works well, a few minor problems

I got this to use with my 15+ year old Snow Peak Giga stove on a recent 350-mile through-hike. It does noticeably reduce fuel use. Helps some in windy conditions, and I occasionally need to set up additional wind protection. It is not particularly light. The stove does not light well with the piezo lighter with the windscreen in place, so I have to carefully set the stove support arms to the right angles, light the stove, carefully slip the windscreen in place, and then reset the stove support arms. It is also almost exactly the same diameter as my GSI Soloist cooking pot, which makes it a little harder to pack the Soloist with all the stove components, including a fuel canister. It it was a little smaller diameter it would fit inside the cook pot; a little larger diameter and it would slip over the base of the cook pot. But all problems I can live with given the fuel savings.

Disappointing

Poorly designed and unnecessarily heavy. This is the only ready made windscreen on the market for the gigapower, which is unfortunate because it's terrible. You pretty much have to buy it for the gigapower to be useable in wind, but it could be so much better. The lip is too short to effectively prevent wind from interfering with the flame. I've resorted to building up aluminum foil around it and /or building an additional wind break. Yes it's an improvement over the gigapower without a screen but that's not saying much. The gigapower is a great stove and it's let down by this product.

Fussy to Get On the Stove

I just got this tonight, so caveat emptore: I haven't used it yet. But I found it takes some fussing to get it on the stove. I'm not sure I'd want to play around this much with it, in cold weather. Perhaps, though, it's just because I'm new to it and to the Giga Power stove (I have the stove with the piezo igniter). It was hard to slide the piezo slot cover out of the way so it would fit down over the igniter and pot supports. Will give it a try, anyway, because the other reviewers said it's a necessary piece of equipment. I do think it would be great if it came in titanium. I would recommend it, once I figure it out!
